APC 1500VA upgrade to external battery - any issues?

    Hi guys,

I have an older APC 1500VA UPS like the one pictured below. right now it has the dual 7AH sealed led acid batteries.. and i'm using it as a backup on an aquarium.

I Also happen to have a beast of a 147aH sealed led acid UPS battery (UPS12-540mr) laying around unused.. Could i wire the little UPS to the terminals to this giant battery?

Now would the charge circuit have any issues going form 14ah to 147ah? or will just just take ages to charge? (which is okay).

I dont foresee my self having a very high load off the UPS.. i more just want it to have a very long run time for some water pumps. I can wire some of them directly to the battery and the 24V ones through the UPS.

    Cheers!
    Deven

it wont have too much trouble charging... It's the long runtime part. Lots of modern UPSes have a very limited runtime. They could cook if they run to long. If you want to do this, i recommend an older, all metal unit. They are less built down and have better cooling.
Things I've fixed: anything from semis to crappy Chinese $2 radios, and now an IoT Dildo....

Sometimes you need to break shit to fix it.... Thats why my lawnmower doesn't have a deadman switch or engine brake anymore

Thanks for the tip.. Ill see if i can find one.. alternative maybe i can upgrade the internal heatsinks/fans

Runtime would likely be long but the load shouldnt be too high

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
        by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

ASUS X571 no power : battery issue?
        by mkdj
        Hello everyone,

        Mark and model: ASUS X571
Symptoms: not turning on. There is only the LED battery indicator working. The owner of the laptop told me this problem arrived one week after having changed the battery. He then managed to power on the laptop only once, and then it never powered on again.

        Tests already made:
        - Battery is charging when laptop is plugged in. The LED battery indicator turns white after a couple of hours of charge, indicating that battery is fully charged. However, laptop won't turn on anyway, with or without AC plug.
        - I have removed...

Vostro 3400 (LA-K033P) won't charge battery, everything else ok
        by techfreak9356
I bought a Vostro 3400 motherboard (LA-K033P) to upgrade over my damaged Inspiron 5593 (LA-J091P) board. Everything else is ok except for the battery. This battery I am using now is already a replacement one since I disposed of the bloated original one. Back in the Inspiron 5593 motherboard, the battery charges fine and is identified just fine. However, with the upgraded motherboard, suddenly the replacement battery is labeled as "Not a dell battery". When I borrow a similar battery from my colleague (which did not have replacements yet), it is identified and charges just fine.

Extremely Strange Issues with charging and battery on Zephyrus G14(GA401)
        by DaLZy
I have recently come into possession of a G14 that cannot detect or charge it's battery. Initially both windows and the bios agreed that the battery was on "0%" but the laptop was able to run without AC power. I was able to get the laptop to detect the true charge of the battery(26%) in windows for a moment but it wouldn't charge or update the percentage when the battery drained. I attempted a few more EC resets and battery reconnections and now the battery shows at 0% in bios and 100% in windows. Additionally the machine is extremely laggy when plugged into AC. When on ac power in the...

ISL88739AHRZ ISL88739 Laptop Battery Charger Datasheet
        by Document Archive
The ISL88739 & ISL88739AHRZ are a highly versatile combo battery charger
configurable for operating as either a Hybrid Power Boost (HPB)
charger or a Narrow VDC (NVDC) charger, supporting 2-, 3-, or
4-cell batteries. Both configurations allow the battery to work with
the adapter together to supply the system load when it exceeds
the adapter capability, referred to as system Turbo mode. HPB
charger configuration reverse-boosts battery energy to the system
bus to help the adapter provide the system power in Turbo mode.
        NVDC charger configuration...
