    Vizio 60" smart tv.

Hello I have a 60" smart TV that lost the picture, the sound was still working but now since I unplugged everything. I don't get sound.. but I will say that the sound is intact. The serial number is E601i-A3. This tv was bought in 2012 from Walmart and I called vizio and I was told it was a backlight issue.. Clearly the person I talked to had no idea as I kept telling him the tv turn on but I get a black/dark blue screen and that's an indication of the backlights working.

This bring me to my actual question. Do you guys think it's a T-Con board or a main board problem? I don not wish to replace both when one might be good or the other way around. Or has anyone else seen this issue and had a different part not working correctly?

    THank you!

    Re: Vizio 60" smart tv.

Guessing at the problem with out taking off the back and checking things is probably not good. Having said that, if you go to the "tv troubleshooting" portion of the forum, I think you will find some similar problems with this type of set. Odds are good its a tcon problem BUT it could be that the tcon was taking out by a bad panel... again read thru some of those associated posts.

Thank you for the reply. I searched for something similar and there's no specific solution to my question. I have however replied to the thread that had a similar problem as my tv to see what their solution was or what they think about my best possible choice is. Thank you again.

Whilst certain models and makes seem to suffer from similar failures going on past history can not replace having a physical look at the boards and measuring with a digital meter.
