Re: Bought electronic components in garage sale
What meant to say is they are new but I am hoping they are still being used and not obsolete.I was looking on eBay this one chip looks like it is still popular ds1216 going for around 10 to 15 dollars a chip.it says it is a smartwatch dip28 assume it has something to do with taking time on something but more likely I am probably wrong.

Re: Bought electronic components in garage sale
Most through hole stuff "is" obsolete now... at least for new use. Some people still experiment with them, alas most people want to do SMT now.
I also do wonder about the smartwatch DS1216s as they are perishable - unless they're datecoded recently their internal batteries may have expired...Last edited by eccerr0r; 10-09-2015, 08:07 PM.

Re: Bought electronic components in garage sale
I wish I could say the same for my eprom collection...
Since there are flash programmable CPLDs nowadays as well.
Speaking of which I think I have a few EPM5128JC's too that I have no idea what I can do with. Mainly due to not-so-widely available programming software/hardware. Or did Altera finally make it the software free? Things might have changed since I last looked...Last edited by eccerr0r; 10-10-2015, 11:13 AM.
