Sometimes you need to break shit to fix it.... Thats why my lawnmower doesn't have a deadman switch or engine brake anymore

Re: Bought electronic components in garage sale
What meant to say is they are new but I am hoping they are still being used and not obsolete.I was looking on eBay this one chip looks like it is still popular ds1216 going for around 10 to 15 dollars a chip.it says it is a smartwatch dip28 assume it has something to do with taking time on something but more likely I am probably wrong.Comment

Re: Bought electronic components in garage sale
Most through hole stuff "is" obsolete now... at least for new use. Some people still experiment with them, alas most people want to do SMT now.
I also do wonder about the smartwatch DS1216s as they are perishable - unless they're datecoded recently their internal batteries may have expired...Last edited by eccerr0r; 10-09-2015, 08:07 PM.Comment

Re: Bought electronic components in garage sale
I wish I could say the same for my eprom collection...
Since there are flash programmable CPLDs nowadays as well.
Speaking of which I think I have a few EPM5128JC's too that I have no idea what I can do with. Mainly due to not-so-widely available programming software/hardware. Or did Altera finally make it the software free? Things might have changed since I last looked...Last edited by eccerr0r; 10-10-2015, 11:13 AM.Comment

by Med-TechHi,
I find that being located in Germany, that it is not too easy to purchase smd components other than from Aliexpress. The problem with that is, that it takes a while to receive the parts. It would be highly appreciated, if others located in this part of the world could advice me where (if at all) they would recommend to get these components.
As always, thanks in advance. -
by Sam ScarboMy Sparkle (SPI) PC power supply has broken. Originally, there was totally no power output. The 5V-standby was not there. I have replaced a few bulged capacitors but not helping.
I was trying to do more troubleshooting but burned more components. Some got burned so badly that the markings were gone. And also, the markings of a few transistors were gone because the component surface was worn out somehow.
If you happened to have disassembled the same PSU model, please help to provide the markings of some of these components.
See the attached two pictures of the small...09-18-2024, 08:29 AM -
by User2025Hi,
I am working on a Surface Laptop GO 3, which is the new release 2024 with a i5-1230U processor. Originally, it had a 256GB SSD, then the owner attempted to upgrade it to 1TB SSD by himself. "Surprisingly", it did not boot afterwards, then changed back to the original SSD, did not boot either.
It turned out to be that just a couple of components had been knocked off when the owner was trying to get off the SSD cover with his beloved screw driver.
I do not have another board of same model. Although I have a Laptop Go 2, the layout of that bit...04-29-2025, 04:13 PM -
by sam_sam_samI had a lot of trouble with the WiFi connection from my router inside of the house into a ( new ) metal garage I had to run a 150 ft cat6 patch cord so the WIFI connection would be strong enough for the WiFi connection on the garage door opener would work correctly ( my son has a work out area in the garage as well and he was having to put his phone near the door to be able to stream music ) ( so I was going to eventually put WiFi out there anyway )
This garage door opener WiFi is very touchy if you lose the power it does not remember the password for the router which is weird or... -

When they had them on sale the first time I just add to an order that I was getting I have had wired earbuds before and was not impressed with the way they fit in your ear but these fit in your ears very well and easily put into your ear
I bought a pair of them when they had them on sale for $10.00...-
