I swaped the dc/dc converter with the spare parts machine, and machine is running fine.

IDK if I ever mentioned that it was a HP / Agilent 5972, the spare parts machine was a 5971 (05972, 05971), mainboard 05972-69020, 05972-60020, 05971-60018 .

invertors (DC to DC convertors) are high stress designs.
that's why on tv's the psu and invertor are the most common failures.
