Well then, how about the brushes, are they still of a usable length, and do they seem to have a decent amout of spring tension pushing them down against the commutator? When you got through cleaning the inside of the motor did you check to see that the brushes moved smoothly in the brush holder?

I went back and reread the thread, I'd forgotten that some 'magic smoke' was in the air at the beginning of the thread, would give a lot to know if it was 'motor smoke' or 'semi-conductor smoke' &-)

      Hey Jonathon,

Is the treadmill in this link the one you've got?

      http://www.manualslib.com/manual/702...t-Ls-925t.html

Sorry to say there's no schematic, just a 'user guide'.

Yeah that's the treadmill alright.. I have that user manual but there's not much in it. I found some other tech manuals and stuff online which were helpful but nothing with a schematic... It would be useful if you could see the video, because it demonstrates that the motor keeps going until the magnet (on the front roller) passes the reed switch sensor... it then immediately stops... It's this fact that has me focused completely on the reed switch and the controller feedback system... (as opposed to troubleshooting the motor itself).

Next on my list is to pull out the board and try testing component after component...... without the schema.. :-(

That does sound pretty much like the board then - when I get to the library next I'll see if I can look up the videos (youtube is sooo cool, huh?)

Once you post some pictures of the board(s) I'm sure there'll be someone who can suss out how the circuit is supposed to work, some of these guys here are awesome. If the
boards have any numbers on 'em that may lead to more info on 'em, too, though I suppose you might already have tried that route some.

Just wondering, bout how many miles does it have on it, any idea?

            Re: Treadmill motor not working

My friend has been using the treadmill for about 8 years, probably does about a half hour on it every day...

To eliminate ANY possible issue with the reed switch, I rigged up this (see pic below) from an old window alarm and put it in place of the original.. It acts exactly the same.. If I leave the reed switch away from the magnet on the roller, the treadmill keeps going for a while... but as soon as I put the reed switch beside the magnet, the treadmill shuts down...

Cant get the controller board anywhere.. (I was just going to buy another one to eliminate it).. So I'm going to have to try to troubleshoot it.. I'll take it out later today..

Sounds like it's provided pretty good service then, up to now.

The speed control I've seen on any treadmill I've looked at reminds me of the add-on MPH
read-outs you can get for a bicylce, except that I'd think that a treadmill might want some kind of indication if the sensor was missing, since it's important that the belt not all-of-a-sudden speed up to 20 mph (30 kph) or something; or, all of a sudden stop, for that matter &-)

                Re: Treadmill motor not working

Okay, I think I've made some progress..

I took out the motor again to give it another look.. When it was originally given to me there was one of the teeth on the optical wheel (rpm sensor) was bent... I assumed that it had come like that originally.... I checked an image of an optical disk on one of the spares websites and it appeared to me that it should be completely flat... I got the long nosed pliers and straightened out each of the teeth..

Put the motor back in and it seems to be working fine now...

Treadmill controller (zipro dream (?)) - PCB-ZYXK9- 1111-V1.2.PCB not working
                  by wzamoyski
                  Hello

I received a treadmill controller (probably Zipro Dream) for repair (more like replacing parts). Board designation: PCB-ZYXK9-1111-V1.2.PCB. existing in it were:
                  • mosfet Q9 (originally MDF4N60 was installed) - mounted on P10NK60ZFP;
                  • resistor R64 (replaced);
                  • F2 protection.

After turning on the power of AC1 and AC2, the components burned again. The existing elements were desoldered and new ones were soldered. The controller has not been connected yet because I'm afraid they would be destroyed again.

There are no additional restrictions that can be applied,...

Dell Optiplex 5050 SFF - strange behavior and service_mode jumper not working anymore
                  by MMH3
                  Hello,

i have many 5050sff. all of them, and how i experienced over many years for all about 250 DELLs goin through my hands, are fully flashable and can be serviced in any way when the service_mode jumper is set.
Never ever i experienced problems with that.

Now i have one 5050sff machine, where this jumper isnt working at all.
I do not get the normal messge that the jumper is set when booting and a short test with FPT just confirms this. Everything is locked -->> EVEN for reading !?

The history of the machine is that i used it in my office...

GIGABYTE X299 AORUS ULTRA GAMING - SATA PORTS 4-7 NOT WORKING ???
                  by DynaxSC
                  Hi,

I have the above mentioned bord after repair, which was related to a lot of missing smd devices on the back of the board.
There were almost 20 devices missing, caps, resistors and some diodes/mosfets.
The board is generally working now, all PCIe ports are working, Windows installs normally.

However I have a problem with SATA ports 4-7 (the board has 8 SATA ports) - disks are not beeing recognized by the BIOS neither by Windows (which is usually normal in case BIOS does not recognize them).
The SATA 4-7 driver network is quite simple chipset<->buffers/drivers<->SATA...

Hi i have one Macbook Air 2020 where touch ID is not working (it's not scanning fingerprints). Touch ID was working before, there is no error message during scanning fingerprint it's just not scanning on screen you can see only fingerprint but there are no red updates as when it's working. Power button is working fine.

I've checked boardview and also schematics but i'm not able to find anything related to TouchID ... i have similar issue on a2338 where there was problem with PP3V0_TOUCHID and after replacing UT610 it was working but here i'm not able to find anything related to...

charnwood w821 mini wood lathe motor problem
                  by sbt123
hi there,im having a look at repairing a wood lathe for my dad,(charnwood w821)the problem is when turning up the variable speed control, the motor starts to stop and start by itself,if i continue to turn up the speed it will trip the mcb in the consumer unit, there is also a slight smell of burning from the speed controll box.,Another strange symptom is the lathe can be unplugged from the mains after switching it off and the motor will spin a couple of times by itself,so far ive put a new speed controll potentiometer on and new motor brushes, ive also tested the motor windings and everything looks...
