    Finding correct cable connector replacement

Ok so I did something silly, I broken off a keyboard ribbon cable connector. I'm wondering if anyone can help me figure out how/where I can find the correct replacement.

    It's a asus x502c

    Thanks in advance.

Has the whole thing broken off or just the clip ? Can we see a photo ?
I've swapped a keyboard connector of a scrap board before using hot air.

I'm not home atm, but I'll upload a pic later. It's just the brown clip that's came away, but I damaged it more trying to get it back in place.

I was hoping I might be able to source a replacememt, rather then having to buy a scrap board.

I have it pushed in atm, with the cable in place, but some keys are working. I'm going to try a peace of card or something on top of the cable when I get home.

Re: Finding correct cable connector replacement

Depending on the type of clip, i have "fixed" the cable in by using a small piece of plastic as a shim to wedge in the cable.
I have a few scrap boards, if i have a suitable connector i'll stick it in the post to you.

Sorry, the only one i have in that style is 25 pin, but they are called FFC connectors and depending on the pitch can be bought from ebay or Mouser etc.
Maybe this one depending on the pitch ?

Yeah that looks the same. Silly question, is the pitch the space between the leads that are soldered? So I just need to measer the spacing?

The pitch is centre of the lead to the centre of the next.

Ok thank you, the pitch on mine is 1mm. The only ones on eBay close to mine are drawer type, instead of the flip. Mouser have them though, which I'd never heard of before, so thank you for your help diff.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                      Assuming...

                      Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

                      usbc connector replacement on mobile
                      by drscoot
I replaced the broken usbc connector on this Ciontek CS50 mobile device. It worked fine afterwards, although it looks like the battery went down quickly and the device got warm at the back (battery section). After putting it in standby for a while it didn't came back anymore?
The battery is still charging (red led), but no power on.
I had another look at the usbc connector, it looks like one of the components is melted down (blue marking)? I have a picture of an untouched device and then the repaired device with 2 pictures; what are these components with B1 and PB marking? Are these...

Need a replacement ribbon cable DELL Latitude E5470
                      by lowpost99@gmail.com
Anyone know if the ribbon cables are standard across laptops cases like in a PC, or are they proprietary to each manufacturer? I damaged the one that runs between the MB and the power / HDD / Battery Status Indicator LED Circuit Board. The Dell SKU/DPN: ADM70LED. I just need help finding a replacement. Could I possibly use a similar cable from a donor laptop?
