    Need Help Identifying A Diode

I have an MSI 3PA1 monitor on my bench that wont power on. I have tested the 2 (what I believe to be Schottky Diodes) and both are shorted in both directions (a common faulty from what I can see on Google) but I'm not certain what the markings on the Diodes mean so I need some help in identifying which ones to order from Mouser please?

I've done a search for 101C 5100C and all I can find are datasheets for 5100C which say they are 20-100V 5A Schottky Diodes but I'm not 100% sure if this is correct or not and what significance the 101C is.

We have accounts with RS Components, Farnell, CPC and Mouser so I need to try and find the correct ones from one of these sites, any help (as always) is greatly appreciated as I'm learning all the time!

The top line is a YWW (Year / Week) date code, eg week 01 of 2011 or 2021.

I've had a look on RS Components and there are 6 variations that they sell, do I need a specific one or will the cheapest ones do?

Thanks again, all help much appreciated as it's saving things being thrown away after just a few years of use.

check the datasheets - those are different size/shape packages.

I think I've worked it out, the letters at the end appear to be how they are packaged either individually or on a roll I think so as I'm only ordering a few and not thousands to put in a machine that really doesn't matter. The only other thing I can see different on the datasheets is the operating temperature is either 150 or 170 (or something like that) so doing a bit of digging around (and asking AI Co-Pilot) I believe the operating temperature of the ones I have is 150 so I have ordered some of those ones so we shall see how we go!

Don’t worry about their op temp. You gotta be more concerned about the speed, voltage and rectification current.
if you want you could put a 200 or 400v 10A diode in there as long as the rectification speed is at least same as fast as the original diode and if it fits. Diodes are more forgiving.

Why do you think these 2 diodes are bad? Did you take them out of circuit and measure them?

Yes. One measures correctly and one measures short circuit. I believe they are in parallel together which is why in-circuit they both measure short-circuit.

Anything that is in pairs, like diodes, MOSFETs etc replace both.

I've got 25 on the way and I have de-soldered them both ready to be replaced by two shiny new ones!
