Pic of your board and the coupling capacitor (the 68nF one) can be highlighted, it is usually near SMPS transformer.

Hi Tom66 just wondering if this will fix the dead power as there isnt even a 5v standby voltage. all the caps on the board basically had popped, thought changing them all would give me a little power back but no such luck.

Probably wouldn't fix no power fault at all, the coupling cap is usually only used for main outputs. Check Vcc for standby IC, all fuses, output diodes for shorts & try listening for ticking sound.

The capacitor is probably that little grey box wedged between the heatsink and topmost transformer.

Have you sort out the problem ? What was exactly causing it ?

Backlight strip quality, Amazon vs Ebay vs ShopJimmy. Is there really a difference?
                  by DXseekerMO
                  Hello everyone!

Recently I've noticed that some ShopJimmy backlight strips don't have double-sided tape installed upon them when an application calls for it, and I must purchase the tape separately. In a recent chat conversation with a customer service agent I told them if this tape wasn't applied when it was called for I would begin to consider ordering my backlight strips elsewhere. It looks like this time may have come.

I recently got a TCL 65S4 with bad backlights. After looking at the SJ listing here: https://www.shopjimmy.com/tcl-jl-d65...365as-m-led-ba...

how do you resolve problems with ebay (and other shop) scammers!?
                  by myth77
When i need to replace cpu or gpu or pch ...i mostly order reballed chip from china, but lately there are more broken ones then working.
So lately i tried with ebay "not working motherboards". I ordered a few broken motherboards from ebay but i have found out that there are many scammers on ebay. The most of them are selling already destroyed motherboards with pictures in low resolution, some of them are being scammed and just scam forwarding...
First board i ordered last month was ok. Cpu was dead but i could use gpu and pch. The second arrived 2 weeks ago...and it was...

                  Help Understanding Darlington IC
                  by Stefo
Have a question above my understanding. (see attached pic and datasheet). Attempting to repair a pcb with a burnt out Darlington Transistor IC. I have identified all pins except for nos. 11 & 12 (Output 7 &8). I removed what is left of the IC, but could not find any traces as to where these pins might have been connected. Bad choice of words, there is no trace of any circuit trace for either pin. In the surrounding circuits i cannot find any without a verified connection to other components. My question is it possible these two pins are just hanging out there with no connection, nothing...

You find these on ebay all the time. Seller feedback is good in regards to them being legit...but I'm still leary. Anyone with experience with these? Seems quite a few around here are running enterprise; and unless ya'll are stealing the keys from your employers, where are you getting them?

                  Parts List and Pricing

CPU: 3/0GHz 4C/4T Intel Core i5-7400. Nothing exciting here, got it off eBay for $80.

RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) Corsair DDR4-2400. Had it floating around. Free.

Motherboard: Gigabyte B250M-Gaming 3. Because I had it floating around and the model number contains gaming so it must be better, right? Free.
