• GS you have given me another angle to consider, given the damage source you are on to something there with the reel drive pairs. Thanks for another rabbit hole adventure ....

• Thanks Redwire, you confirm my suspicion there was not a connection on 11&12. it just seemed odd to me that the inputs were connected. You are correct in that the outs are going to the ribbon cable, for which I have accounted for all the pins. I think the inputs for several of these chips are connected in common to synchronize lights flashing on the machine, this is what threw me off, your explaination helps. Thank you. Ill look at your suggested IC replacement. Oh and the owner of the machine connected a different manufacturers reel cable which instantly shorted the IC. So at least...

• Help Understanding Darlington IC

Have a question above my understanding. (see attached pic and datasheet). Attempting to repair a pcb with a burnt out Darlington Transistor IC. I have identified all pins except for nos. 11 & 12 (Output 7 &8). I removed what is left of the IC, but could not find any traces as to where these pins might have been connected. Bad choice of words, there is no trace of any circuit trace for either pin. In the surrounding circuits i cannot find any without a verified connection to other components. My question is it possible these two pins are just hanging out there with no connection, nothing...

• Re: Need Help IDing Diodes

Thanks to jiroy & kasfamily:
sorry been tied up and couldnt get back to the bench. one problem i have is this board had some shorts, and i had to remove an audio amp so the circuit is interrupted. i also dont have the power inputs or any output cables, so i have to sketch it out. i injected 12v at 500mA to get some measurements.
pin1 to 3 of the voltage regulator 11.93V, pin 2-3 11.26V
D1 forward 11.93V, Reverse 11.26V.
Hope this helps

• Re: Need Help IDing Diodes

thank you for your interest:
I'm also attaching a picture of the surrounding board area in case that helps.
Probably a buck converter on bottom right. IC5 is a LM2596T-5

Diode mode measure on DMM
Forward Reverse
D1 0.497 V 2.165 V
D2 0.88 V 2.003 V
D3 0.171 V 1.5 V and up- filling capacitor C8
Note assumed pin 3 single on top, pin 1 bottom left and 2 right
Pin 2 not connected
Fwd measure pin 1 red probe, pin 2 black
Reverse just opposite...

• Need Help IDing Diodes

can anyone help identifying these three diodes please? ive tried googling for 2 days with no success! They are from a Japanese audio board for a slot machine built my guess around 2000. They seem to have spec'd Japanese manufacturers for everything else. the approx dimensions are on the photos.
Curious right leaning tick mark on D1 & D2, backwards Z? on D3

Thanks https://www.badcaps.net/forum/images/smilies/dunno.gifhttps://can anyone help identifying ...udio board for...

Although a chemistry major in college, i'm having to relearn all that math from so many years ago. was directed here by You Tuber Richard, from Learn Electronics Repair in hopes of expanding my knowledge and maybe to seek advice from the gurus here.
