So where is that component? Is it connected across Hot and Neutral? It shows low Ohm out off the board?

Help Diagnosing ASRock Taichi X570 Motherboard
                by AlexForTheWin
Hi all! I'm a newbie to to the forum and electronics repair in general.
I picked up a nonfunctional ASRock Taichi X570 motherboard that someone threw away. My main goal is it to repair and use it. But even if it's not possible, I'd like to learn about the process.
I'd very much appreciate some guidance.

Here are the steps I've taken to diagnose the board:

I first tried powering the board without a CPU or memory. The lights turned on. As you'd expect, the board wouldn't boot.

Hoping the board worked, I bought a compatible CPU on amazon. I wanted...

Acer Aspire E5-574G - Not Powering On
                by novice1
                Laptop name Acer Aspire E5-574G. Processor = i7-6500u. GPU = NVIDIA GEFORCE 940M. Motherboard Model = DA0ZRWMB6G0

This laptop was not powering on at all so I started investigating. The blue light would come on for a second, and then disappear. Fan would sometimes turn on for a second and then shut off immediately, and at other times would not turn on at all.

To start with, about 3 months ago I had no clue about soldering, motherboard schematics, board view, and then I stumbled about this forum and other stuff online. I have never done any of those before. But to ask...

Asus rog strix gtx 1060 6gb not recognized
                by Guest
I am writing regarding an ASUS ROG STRIX 1060 6GB graphics card with no video output which is not recognized by the PC. I've checked the voltages at the output of the coils and they all seem to be correct: 12V, 5V, 1.8V, 1V (PEX), 1.5V (VRAM) and 0.85V (GPU). 3.3V is also present.

                As for the resistances: 12V (10 kohms) 4.9V (900 ohms) 3.3V (3 kohms) 1.8V (50 ohms) 1V (150 ohms) VRAM (90 ohms) GPU (0.9 ohms)

According to measurements carried out by other users, the resistance at the 1.8V rail seems to be low. Just in case this low resistance is due to a GPU issue,...

GTX 1080 TI Gigabyte Aorus low resistance on vmem
                by cind12
Hi guys, i was wondering, i've got 9Ohms on Vmem, one of the mosfet was shortet to ground, so i've desoldered hi and low mosfets nad still low res, then i removed all of the memory chips, and the resistance is still low, so did you had maybe a card with that low res on memories, and the card was working fine ?
Removed the U1866Q and still without result, i dont have thermal cam so can't see where is hot spot when incjeting voltage.
The resistance on core is ok 0.1Ohm ((Power 0.8V when on)
Resistance on 12V 4K ohms (Power present when on)
Resistance on 12V PEX 4K ohms...

Lowest possible resistance on laptop motherboard rail - Guide Table request
                by Nagy Daniel
Hi, I'm Daniel, and I'm new to the world of repairing motherboards.

I would like to create a table, or more likely a guideline about the voltage rails and their possible resistance rail.

I know that the motherboard design has a very big depend on the rail's resistance, but I would like to know what is the smallest value for a rail that can be acceptable. For example, I heard that some new gaming motherboards can have 0,5 Ohm resistance on the GPU rail, but on an older type, it could be a sign of a shorted GPU rail.

So, I generated a table with AI so I can...
