My power supply in my RCA TV blew an HER303 diode. NTE cross is NTE588. I through an NTE587 in for testing and the tv worked right away. I don't want to leave it that way since the NTE587 is only 1 amp and the NTE588 is 3 amp. I found a diode out of an old pc power supply that looks like it would work. Its number is 1.5KE350A. NTE cross is NTE4994. I also have an 1N5406. NTE cross is NTE5806. It's the same specs but a standard recovery not ultra fast. Any ideas if any of these diodes can be used or should I just order a 303 from Digikey?

Re: HER303 substitute?
Standard recovery will get hot since it does not turn off fast enough, use the correct one as original or with higher voltage/current rating one with fast recovery.Never stop learning

Re: HER303 substitute?
UG4D should be a good replacement.
MUR420 is another alternative. It's actually a little better in terms of current capability - 4 Amps vs 3 Apms for the HER303.
Depending on which manufacturer you get it from, though, you may or may not get lower reverse recovery time (so always check data sheet upfront). For example, this one from Mouser has both lower reverse recovery time and is rated for 4 Amps at 80C, which is good:

But this one from Digikey is from a different manufacturer and not as good as the one above (though, in a pinch, it would probably work too)

And here's one from ON Semi on Digikey that is good as well:
