Trouble sourcing an inverter. - EEL-22T

    Hi,

This is for an LG monitor.

It has a EEL-22T inverter - the same as this one: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/EEL-2...068442494.html

I did buy a EEL-22 from eBay but that has 8 pins, the EEL-22T has only 6.

I cannot find this on eBay or anywhere for that matter. Is there another compatible one I could use?

    Thanks

    Joe

Re: Trouble sourcing an inverter. - EEL-22T

It looks like EEL-22 is the root part number for the transformer ferrite core+bobbin, made by many companies, so there are many variants. I couldn't find specs on the EEL-22T either.

The EEL-22W spec I found in a Fairchild app note. Turns ratio 1:121

You could swap the trannys on your two power boards to prove it's the problem.

The EEL-22T has a single primary (=6 pin) whereas most EEL-22's have dual primary (=8 pin). You could match up the #primary turns... but that's a big stretch.

        An EEL-22T (aka TM1317A) is $8.40 here

        Hope this helps

I'm sure its the problem, I did pull de-solder it and run some ohm tests on it that suggested it were broken.

It's one of the older monitors I have, I don't mind turning it into a single primary, If I knew exactly which pins to bridge .

Thank you so much for spending your time to have a look for me.

If you want to try sub an EEL-22W for the EEL-22T, I would just match the primary windings.

Count how many turns the EEL-22T uses; from this pic I found on the web it looks like 2x 5turns=10turns total; breakout at pins 2, 3.

Then wire up an EEL-22W to match: The two primaries breakout at pins 2, 7 and pins 3, 6.
Series operation is tie pin 3 to pin 7, but pin 3 does not go into the PCB; input is pin 2, 6. So you need a jumper from transformer pin 6 to pin 3 on the PCB.

Said another way, the input on the EEL-22T is pins 2, 3 and on an EEL-22W (pri wired in series) it is pins 2, 6 ; pins 3, 7 are jumpered but not connected to the PCB. So you need another jumper to run transformer pin 6 to PCB pin 3.

It depends on what your eye can see on the two transformers if they are not potted.
