Re: electromagnetic field therapy
There are two windings, see page 16.
It looks like they are connected in series.Attached FilesNever stop learning

Re: electromagnetic field therapy
Well, it is bad, open winding. The problem will be getting the replacement for it.
By the way, it is RI110PC. Mouser does not stock it.
It is 148mili-Ohm (mOHMS) = 0.148 OhmLast edited by budm; 02-13-2013, 12:49 PM.Never stop learning

Re: electromagnetic field therapy
Whew, if it's the noise filter. It's just copper wire, so I would see if the soldering connections are good.
To find another one, there are many similar common-mode filter chokes you can take from an old PC power supply.Comment

Re: electromagnetic field therapy
It is Saturated Choke with very high leakage inductance.
From the spec sheet:
The inductance of saturating-type chokes reduces as load current
increases, and is ideal for attenuating the differential-mode or
symmetrical interference generated by fast-switching thyristors, triacs,
transistors and phase angle control devices. Inductance values are
not shown because the leakage inductance is relatively high.

Re: electromagnetic field therapy
Since it is a dual saturated choke not a diff mode choke, you can use two 3A Saturated chokes instead, as you can see in the sample of the diagram how they are used, which is applied to your circuits.Attached FilesNever stop learning

Re: electromagnetic field therapy
Let see if digikey or mouser can find one, if not that might be an alternative, or maybe another brand with same specs?Comment

Re: electromagnetic field therapy
Yes, another brand will be fine if they do not have min qty requirement. The 3A rating seems to have typical resistance between 0.1 Ohm (100mOhm) ~ 0.15 Ohm (150mOhm)Never stop learning

Re: electromagnetic field therapy
My bad - it's a dual-core filter which is a bit rare. The datasheet is strange they don't mention how much inductance it has. Checked and the newer parts are a different size, won't fit.
You could short the open inductor and see if it runsComment

Re: electromagnetic field therapy
I wonder if your transducer or wiring in the XLR connector may be shorted out so it took out the choke which is in series with it.Never stop learning
