I dont know which pad he was using when the machine stopped working. i dont know if it's the one i have here. he has like three or four different pads. he wasn't the one using the machine when that happened. it was his friend the one using it. i'm going to ask him this afternoon to see wich one he was using to compare it with the one he uses regularly.

Yes, you should verify that so you will not take out the SCR, the new choke, or blow the main fuse of the box which I begin to suspect that was the cause of the main fuse blowing when you start working on the unit beside blowing the zener diode (that bad zener will not draw enough current to blow he main fuse, but shorted out wiring or tranducer can).

About the fuse blowing i think what it was cauisng it was the or the XLR connector, because when they were blowing, i have that connector loose with no screws, i dont know if it makes sense, but i noticed that.
also at that time, was using fast acting fuses, and they were blowing instantly.
now i'm using fast acting also (i run out of slow blow) and they blow sometimes, i've using the same one for three days and it hasnt blown, but some other they were blowing instantly.

are you talking about shorting the Choke to see if it works? or that i should check the pads?
I think if the pad is wrong the fuse would blow instantly. I own a machine too, and when i just got it i tried my pad in his machine (the one working) and the fuse blew in a couple of seconds, it looks like they have different resistance.
also the pad was not on when the fuses were blowing

Well, if the pad has shorted turn (transduer is a coil) or wiring, the choke will become full load so it will be exposing about 48v on the choke. So what ever you do, check the pad and the wiring on the connector first.

i'm going to try to fix it that way, if it works, fine, if not, i'll order the replacement. the replacement takes 8 weeks or more to get here, so in the meantime...

                        Hi!
i just got an email from mouser telling me they cannot get the choke, so i think the machine is gonna stay like that with the little fix i did to the choke. it's been holding up pretty well, i've been using it for almost a couple of weeks with no problems at all.
This morning my friend call me telling me the machine he has in use is blowing fuses
he has been using it for a while with a 1A fuse slow blow, and yesterday it blew that one. i asked him, which ones he bought to replace it? he bought 1A fast acting, so i though that's why.
i asked him to come get some 1A slow blow that i have at home, that would fix the problem.
he brought the machine, we put one of those with no pad and the machine started working but as soon as i plug the pad in, the fuse blow instantly
that happened with the pad i've been using here and also the 1A fuse that i've been using with no problem for the past days.
i just ordered some 1.25A to start from there...

What Zener Diodes on a Linear Power Supply
                          by caspian
                          Dear members,

I have a linear variable power supply with unknown brand name that I used for voltage injection.
Then it failed. I discovered that its transistors (Q1 and Q2) are shorted.
In addition, I discovered that its zener diodes are defective.
I can replace the burned transistors.
But I do not know the model of the zener diodes. the model number is not marked on the zener diodes.
Therefore, I cannot replace the zener diodes.
I do not want to test the zener diodes in a test circuit to discover their model or value.
                          no schematics are available...

Janome DC3050 Sewing Machine Pedal Resistance
                          by CG2
OK, this is a long shot. I got this sewing machine cheap because it's end of line, ex-display, and had no pedal. The genuine pedal costs £60, while Ebay knock-offs go for around £15. So I went for the knock-off, it doesn't work, and I'm not sure whether it's the pedal or the sewing machine that has the problem.

Now this is an electronic machine, unlike the old fashioned sort where the pedal was a big resistor in series with the power to the motor. Here, the pedal is just (I think) a variable resistor fed with a 5 volt supply, and limited to a current of 5 milliamps. Assuming that...

                          Hi everyone,

I am trying to fix a samsung washinmachine power supply main board.
I already replaced it with another one to fix the machine but i want to try understand the issue with the old board.
Therefore i hope to be able to get some help to explain what to check in order to troubleshoot.
The power supply board reference is the following: DC41-00189a

What zener diode might fix the sound on Maestro Mayhem gaming chair?
                          by nev1001
Hi, I'm looking for a bit of help trying to fix the audio unit from a Maestro Mayhem 4.1 gaming chair please.

The chair has a few speakers and vibration motors. All was well, for a while, but now the sound is gone.

It may be significant that I discovered my son was powering it with a 19V laptop charger when it should run on 12V - it did fully work, for bit.

I think an issue could be a zener diode (or capacitor) which has shorted out.

The board's bluetooth input still works, the vibration motors are working, so is the line out socket but not the...
