    Royer Inverter Circuits

I have been working on some inverter designs, a coulple of things have made me think a little bit .
In the supply of the current to the transformer there is a choke ,am I right in thinking this is a desaturation choke to prevent the transformer saturating or "walking".
I am having a slight problem with the coupling between the primary and secondary windings ,it seems that I have to adjust this somewhat to reduce the coupling factor other wise the circuit starts to draw excessive current.

    Re: Royer Inverter Circuits

An example of a Royer inverter circuit is in the Linear Technology LT1184/LT1184F datasheet.
    Also see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royer_oscillator .
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

Take a look at some of the Zetex app notes using Royer converters, mostly for CCFL. Not much is out there about their design. Google "zetex royer"
      Zetex appnote an14.pdf
