Agilent U1732C LCR meter

Just received my Agilent LCR meter and almost lyrical how easy to use and well built it feels Should be real fun now to check suspicious capacitors and how they rate. I intend to use it at work as well since I work with maintenance, both preventive and remedial (correct word?) on industrial power supplys and more, such devices that can cause lots of lost cash if they malfunction.

I especially like the one-touch ESR button.

Just wanted to share my happiness with you all and if you have any tips and/or suggestions how to use the meter even more accurate, please let me know

it goes up to 10 kHz,
cap ESR is measured
from 100 kHz standard

Hmm, OK. But at 10 kHz it will still give an indication if the capacitor is bad or not? Since the ESR decreases with increased frequency (right?).

Yes, and increases from
sitting near the heatsinks
and being a bad cap

ESR @ 100Hz (120Hz)
or @ 100kHz

the reference tables are at 100kHz
