Vizio e500i-b1 no turn on standby light fades out in 5 sec.

The TV has a standby light for about 5 seconds after I plug in. Then it fades out. I can make it come back on by pressing power button then stay fades back out after 3-5 seconds. Have 5v on power supply but no other of the 12 or 24v. Is this a main board problem I'm stumped. PS has power at bridge and large caps.

Please read basic troubleshooting guide in my link below. You will need to provide good clear pictures of the whole backside of the TV showing all the boards, then take the DCV reading when TV is OFF and when Power switch is activated on the connector of the power supply that goes to the main board.
Make sure to put the pin names follow by the DCV reading for each pin so we will know what each pin's function is and what Voltage/s is/are missing.

Re: Vizio e500i-b1 no turn on standby light fades out in 5 sec.

On plug to main board I have 5v on two top pins and no other voltage in standby. Stby light fades off after 4 secs. When I press power on I get 2.9v at ps on and the voltage on the two 12v pins climbs to 1v and no other voltage present on 24v pins.

I am thinking this: You may have a bad main board and a bad PSU. When the LED goes out, you still have 5V on the STBY voltage rail. That indicates a problem with the main board.

The PSU problem I am trying to understand. PSon is good, however you didn't report the on/off pin (BLon) voltage.

Check the DC V on the main filter capacitor in the primary.

Both main filter caps 163v in stby and on.
Stby light on 4 seconds after plug in then fades, I have a 1 sec flash of Stby light when I press power on button. I have 3v at ps on and 3v on on/off at power supply constant after I press power on, but only 1v on 12v pins and 0v at 24v pins. The 3v remain on both pins until I press power off then the go to 0v. I'm leaning power supply but the Stby light thing has me confused.

It looks like there's no PFC coming on. When you come out of standby you don't appear to have a boost voltage across the capacitors.

The photo of the power supply is quite blurred so difficult to identify components. What is the part number for the multi-legged IC under the heat sink close to the word "primary"
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

Not the board ident but the actual part number written on the IC. It looks like an STR-xxxx type of IC

It looks like some one has accidentally touch the trace (HOT) to the chassis GND trace (a piece pf metal, screws?). Those blue caps are not needed for the TV to function.
Art this point you need to get the PFC Boosted Voltage to work first.
Pictures of the power supply board are too blurred for me to read the designators and the labels on the board.
We need good clear straight shot pictures of the top and bottom side of the board because I need to locate the PFC diode on that board.
BTW, I cannot read the numbers on the barcode sticker.

OK, that is fine, I am looking for resistance of <1K in both directions if it is bad.
More troubleshooting needed in that PFC section then.

I have a Vizio E550i-A0 that will not power on. It also does not display the standby light in the corner. I disconnected the main board cable to see if the backlights would light but they did not (maybe this is normal for this set?). I checked the voltages on the plug and they all read in mV or 0, so there's no voltage there. The fuses are ok, and the voltages of the 450v caps read about 160v. I see no visual damage on either the power supply or main board. I have read online that the main board is usually the culprit in this model, but not getting backlights with the main disconnected makes me...

                                          Hello everyone,
I got a Samsung The Frame 55 inch TV for free from uncle cause it is not turning on anymore. I am in the second year of training as an electrician so I have knowledge already but I am far away from to be a pro.
The TV has Standby but ist not turning on. A Friend of mine owns a 50 inch Frame TV so I checked the One Connect Box and the One Connect Cable there. Both are good and working normally. I have opened the TV case and measured some voltages on the Board.
What I already found is that the 12.8V are not an the connector to the main board connector to the power...

First off i want to say hello, as i am new and happy to be in the presence of people that know much more than me in these situations. I have searched through quite a few threads and not found and issue just like the one i am having. I just acquired a Vizio D650i-B2 that I was told just quit turning on and has no standby light. Going through some light diag last night i found that the set has a steady standby 5v at the power board connector. without removing any of the boards yet there is no obvious signs of burning, bloating, or cracking on anything that i see. I unplugged the IR board as i saw...

Vizio D50u-D1 Dead Set No Standby
                                          by fharris1977
Hi. I got a Vizio with no power or standby, and won't turn on with remote or button. I checked the voltages on the connector and all read 0.00V or nearly 0(0.050 ON/OFF pin). None of the pins are labeled STB for standby although I do see some 5V pins. Other than the obvious standby led, which isn't coming on, is there a way to check for standby voltage on this PS. I'm trying to see if my problem is the PS or mainboard. Some Vizios I have fixed with no standby led me to think it was the PS but it turned out being the mainboard. Any experience with this set would be greatly appreciated.
