Two questions about repairing Antec PSU

I have an Antec TruePower 450 Watt PSU that I am trying to repair, and I have two questions about it.

First, it has an NTC thermistor that is SCK 2R512 that is cracked and I would like to replace it. I pulled the data sheet on it and discovered that it is 2.5Ω with a current rating of 12A and a whole bunch of other datapoints that I don't recall off the top of my mind. In doing a search for a matching NTC thermistor on mouser and digikey, I was unable to find an exact match. The closest I found was an EPCOS B57364S259M, which matches that 2.5Ω spec, but only rates at 11A and none of the other constants match. Would this part be an appropriate replacement for the SCK 2R512? Further, what are the important specifications in choosing an NTC thermistor, so that I know what to look for in the future?

My second question is one that is much more academic. This power supply and my PC Power and Cooling Silencer that I have taken apart both have what appear to be wire wound resistors that are mounted to one of the large heatsinks inside the PSU. I couldn't help but notice that this resistor was not present in any of the no name PSUs that I used to see cross my workbench back when I was a PC repair tech back in the days when PSUs came free with the case. So, I am just curious what is the function of this resistor, and why does it seem to only be present in higher end power supplies?

    Thanks,
    Justin

Re: Two questions about repairing Antec PSU

    This will work:

    Ametherm: SL22 2R515
    DigiKey: 570-1047-ND

    http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...1047-ND/749887

Resistors - either loads for outputs or current limiters in the Source of MOSFETs.

Can not find Model/Value of Thermistor.

        Machine: Autoclave.
        Brand/Model: SANYO MLS-3780
Manual: (Sorry search option not working on this PDF)

Hello guys, this autoclave running with 2 thermistors already connected TH1 and TH3(on CN1,CN2 sockets). One for the water temperture and second one for chamber temperature. But there is another emtpy socket for optional third thermistor CN2 wich is for TH2 for object temperature. I wanna add the third thermistor TH2 to CN2 socket. But i can't figure what model/brand/value i need to use. In manual document, there is no info about TH1 and TH3 model number...

Magic chef oven - thermistor ref voltage issue
        by Use2bavolvo
I am having an issue with my wall oven temperature control is ~180f out of spec. The thermistor is measuring correctly but I noticed the ref voltage appears to be off. With the thermistor wires attached it's reading ~3.4vdc with the thermistor disconnected it's around I9.8vdc. my understanding is the temp is read off the resistance from the thermistor which leads me to believe the issue is with the ref voltage.

Another observation is the temp setting and readout at lower temps is way off meaning the oven thinks room temp is 300f and bake relay doesn't engage unless temp setting...

Sony KDL-40BX450 LCD. Thermistor gets too hot 10 seconds after turning on the TV
        by Quantum IC
        Hello every one,
This TV came to me with the problem that it was totally dead.
The problem was the two MOSFETs and a fuse resistor in the power supply.
The original MOSFETs were KF7N50F and I repalced them with SLF65R700S2.
The original fuse resistor was 0.1 Ohm 1/2W. I didn't find a similar fuse resistor and I replaced it with 0.1 Ohm 5W ceramic resistor.
When I plug the TV the ST-BY LED turns on, when I press the power button on the TV, the ST-BY LED turns off and the TV doesn't turn on until the second time I press the power button is when the TV turns on,...

Thermistor exploded in two when turning on ps4 fat
        by fab13
        Hi there,

I have a fat PS4 with the fuse (5a) of the power supply which blows with each power on and there was a loud snap in the power supply and again the same problem after replacing the fuse.
I did not find a short circuit

The component that broke in two is an SCK 084 thermistor (See photo)
        and measured at 11 ohm

        So far I haven't received a thermistor.

Do you think that if I replace the thermistor and the fuse it should go away, because I have the impression that there is a strong current demand as soon as you press...

Questions About USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 and USB4 Designs: Type-A vs Type-C, MUX Requirem
        by electronx
        Hi everyone,

I’m currently learning about the USB protocol and designing a project, but I’ve encountered a few questions that I couldn’t find clear answers to. I’d really appreciate your input!

        1. USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 with SuperSpeed Type-A Connector
According to the USB 3.2 specification, it states that USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 can support a SuperSpeed Type-A connector. This raises a question:

If we use a SuperSpeed Type-A connector, the system would only utilize 1 lane for data transfer, leaving 1 lane from the host unused. Is this configuration valid,...
