        Re: backlight issue Samsung UE32EH5000

So BLU-On and PS_ON look fine. It does look as though you may well have a fault around the led driver IC or associated circuitry.
What is the part number of IC9101S?

            "
I did not have the time to look up that P/N yet.
Also need to verify if it is SLC1010 or not, some other SAMSUNG's use MagnaChip SLC2012, SLC5012.

              Re: backlight issue Samsung UE32EH5000

Sorry for hijacking, but I'm having the exact same issue so I want to keep up with this thread also The only difference is that I might've made a boo-boo: not getting any voltage on the BLU_ON pin, I decided to force it on by putting 5v on it...the backlight DID come on when I did so, but then I saw some smoke coming out of the PSU :| I quickly unplugged it and as it was discharging, the backlight flashed like every 1-2 seconds. I'll be honest, I cannot see what smoked there...there's no visible damage, but now I somehow DO get 3v on the BLU_ON pin....not sure whether that should be happening or something indeed shorted and let out the smoke...sucks there's no schematic for this...

Ok I believe I found out what blew: it's a small SOT-23 transistor on the back. It's located just about the FET driving the coil for the LEDs. It's labeled as Q9005 and under extreme magnification it seems to have a slight bulge and a burn mark on it. It's also not giving any reading on my meter in diode mode, in any direction so it could be that was causing the issue all along. Now I'll have to kindly ask you to look on your board and tell me what's written on it, since it's extremely small to begin with and mine's also slightly charred so I can't possibly see what's on it. Cheers.

Thanks. Please do that ASAP, would really appreciate it - it's for a client :| If I get that replaced, perhaps I can get back to working out why it's not working.

Can you measure the voltages on Pins 1 to 16 of the IC with leds connected.

Was reading thru and this helped me on one recently that was driving me crazy. those LED testers will fire up lights that could be failing normally.
I tested each little strip separately by disconnecting the connectors. on mine there were two strips per row and about 6 or 7 rows, the point is all of them had the same readings on my tester except one. the one that was low was my problem.

The IC CS is set to shut off if the current/voltage is not within a pre-set tolerance.

I have also used my multimeter set to amps in series with the output lead of the led tester so that it also shows the current being supplied to the stip.

Yes, I confirm once again that's its the SLC chip Can't really test anything until I get that friggin' transistor replaced...I'm afraid something else might blow if I keep pushing it. The IC itself appears to be functioning correctly though, since the LEDs DO flash on and off, but they're very unstable since that control transistor is open-circuit and the enable pin is likely floating. I'm also not too sure what that array of 5 large resistors on the side of the board does....

                                            Hello,
I'm having an issue with the Samsung 740n's phase control setting. When I use the automatic adjustment, it sets the value to around 54 (with a range of 0-100), and the picture looks clear and sharp. However, after some time—like after playing a game—the text starts to look blurry. When I auto-adjust again, it may increase the value to 80, and everything becomes sharp once more. Yet, after a while, whether it's a few hours or a day later, the same blurriness returns, and I have to adjust it again.

I'm using the Samsung 740n monitor drivers instead of the default plug-and-play...

                                            Hello.

My TV is a QE65Q800TATXXC Samsung TV.

Issue : When you plug the 220V, voltages are OK on the power board and you can hear the click from the relay, but TV is not starting when power button is pressed. Red led is blinking when you press power button. But no images or sound ( Back-light is off )
Then if you disconnect the cable from the main board to the power supply, the TV back-light turns on.
Any ideas to check would be very appreciated 😊

I purchased a used Samsung TV model UA65JS9000W recently knowing it had an issue with the screen. When switched on the picture was bright both sides of the screen but a little darker in the middle of the screen. Thinking this was the back lights (side mounted LCD strips) I replaced these, however the issue is still there. I am now thinking it may be a TCOM issue, but am not sure, any advice on this would be appreciated. Also whilst changing out the back lights I noticed the the thick clear plastic sheet (maybe 1.5 to 2mm thick) below the diffusers there is cracking (up to 75mm) on the sides and...

Samsung UE48JU7000 screen issue after backlight replacement
                                            by ScHAmPi
                                            Hi all,

Because of two bright spots and a couple of dark spots I decided to replace the backlights in my Samsung UE48JU7000. See attached photos:

I thought all went well, but after full assembly and testing it out it turns out not all is fine. The backlights are completely fine but I have some weird issues on the right half of the screen. Since I didn't really touch the T-CON board (apart from taking out the ribbons of the display and reconnecting them on assembly) it would be weird that the issue is with the T-CON board... But based on the behavior of the service...
