Hey, I'm extremely new to TV repair. Long story short, TV popped when I turned it on, opened it up, located the burnt ceramic capacitor, but the label with the info on it was burnt out. I don't know much about this stuff, so I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on the capacitor I would need so I could solder in the new one. The nearby capacitors have the labels on them, but they vary. The power supply board part # is: PLTVHU401XABV The board location number of the capacitor is C9100 and it is almost dead center on the board.

Re: Vizio D55un-E1 burnt ceramic capacitor identification
Thank you!! For some reason, when you mentioned those other capacitors and I decided to check, I'm just now noticing the white circles on the board surrounding the capacitors and realizing all the ones with the same circles all have similar specs!Comment

Re: Vizio D55un-E1 burnt ceramic capacitor identification
Get higher Voltage rating, I.E. 2KV if you can, the cap is a snnuber cap for Q9100.Last edited by budm; 04-01-2020, 06:13 PM.Never stop learning

Re: Vizio D55un-E1 burnt ceramic capacitor identification
I have the same problem. Not only did the cap pop(c9100) but also the resistor burnt directly in front of the cap. I can't tell the value of it. Can anyone here tell me? I can't read all the board numbers for it because of the burn spot, but can see the number 9111 for it.Comment

Re: Vizio D55un-E1 burnt ceramic capacitor identification
I'm OK with finding the resistor but I don't have a clue as to the cap. Can you recommend?
I saw 2kv recommended. I also need to know capacitance, tolerance and I believe it is ceramic. Thanks (I use Digi-Key)Comment

Re: Vizio D55un-E1 burnt ceramic capacitor identification
Hey fellas, new board member here. Got a guy that lent me his TV to check out. Same TV model number, same board number. Came across this thread and I believe the identification info here helped me some.
I only got one question - what is C9912? I believe this is a blue ceramic capacitor. It is the same or VERY SIMILAR to the C9914 cap and C9913 cap. If I were to read the super tiny text on the cap itself, it would say "SEC 471k SB (+ some random symbols here) and 500v~Y1, 250v~733C". Does this mean it's a 470 pf cap? How do you determine the voltage? 250v minimum? 500v? Trying to find the right component to order off eBay so I can get my board working. Besides 3 other components that went bad/faulty, C9912 was 1 (of 2) that blew and SMOKED the board - left a huge black mark on it - one could say it caught fire, but it did not. I think a power surge hit the board recently... and I think it's fixable as long as I replace the components.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!Last edited by wcusa1; 02-21-2022, 09:57 PM.Comment

Re: Vizio D55un-E1 burnt ceramic capacitor identification
The cap is a 470pf 500v Y1 safety capacitor, the board can be tested without this cap in place. a 470v 250vac Y1 rated safety cap should be ok
If the safety cap blew, I would check if the MOV (RV9901) is shorted as well. If it took a spike to blow these safety caps I suspect there is a lot more damage then a couple components.
This digikey part should be ok DE1B3KX471KB4BN01FLast edited by R_J; 02-22-2022, 07:04 PM.Comment

Re: Vizio D55un-E1 burnt ceramic capacitor identification
Came here with the same issue and Q9101 has a chip blown out of it so I cannot see the identification numbers. Any chance someone has the data for this IC. All I can get off of it is what looks like "SK742A 439L" The top row of the number is in the missing fragment and I have had no joy in locating anything with these numbers alone.Comment

Re: Vizio D55un-E1 burnt ceramic capacitor identification
can you verify the number, not seeing a Q9101.Comment

Re: Vizio D55un-E1 burnt ceramic capacitor identification
It is a SMD on the back side of the board. I couldn't find it at first either.
Edit: My bad, the ID is U9101, not QComment

I think I have answered my own question.
I believe the part number to be SSC1S311A.

by nobbnobb1I picked up this used Bose Acoustimass 10 IV speaker system. Speakers seem to work fine, but the subwoofer does not make any noise. So I took apart the unit and found some obviously failed (burnt) components:
- 1x 3.14 A @ 250V main circuit fuse
- 1x bridge rectifier GBU601. there's actually two of these on the board, one is obviously burnt and the other does not seem to have any anomalies like shorts. However I figure may as well replace both.
- 2x diode. This is tricky because the only markings I see on it are: "617 402". No current rating or anything else....-

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by abajorI have an SSD from a 2012 to early 2013 Macbook pro, the SanDisk model SD5SL2-512G-120SE
Attached is a photo of the burnt chip. I'm assuming it's some sort of voltage regulation chip. The numbers are obscured by the damage.
I am attempting to recover data from this SSD, obviously this chip needs to be replaced before anything can be done.
Is there anything else I should check to verify the health of the NAND?
Thanks if anybody knows what part I'm looking for.... -
