Re: Hanns G HG281D 2 second black screen and parts help

Hi, this is my 1st post. I have a similar power problem with my HG281D. It would boot up normal and sometime it would go black. The on/off switch would be non responsive, I would have to click it 5-10 time to get the piture back for a few seconds. It would go out again, I repeat the above and it would stay on. If I let it in yellow stand-by it would come on OK for a few days, maybe a week until the problem startes again.

After reading some of the post here I took it a part and noiticed bad solder connections on the smaller pCB, I guess this is a lodgic board? I ordered the kit for the PSB.

So I am waiting now for my parts.
I will update when it is back together.

    Thanks,
    John.

Did you order the two caps (100uf 16vdc) by the voltage regulators on the main/logic board also?

What does the "Main Logic" board look like?

I believe the capacitor kit is for recapping the power supply board only, not including the caps for the main board.
Did you try running the Video on PC at the lowest resolution to see if the screen will stay on yet?

Monitor is apart right now. I am doing both PCB's.

Yes, they should be low ESR type also. you can try regular one for now for testing.

Woot Indeed. Thanks for the tip about those specific caps.
I had an old sound card lying in drawer that kindly sacrificed itself for the project.

I had/have the problem described in this thread.
This is my first post but I've been reading others' posts (scattered about the interwebs) on this model for over 6 months.
I DigiKeyed a bunch of caps for the power board and thought I had it fixed, but it seems the 3day shipping wait was just the longest I'd left the monitor unplugged and it started blacking again after a few more days.

I replaced the 3 you mentioned... It turns on and works so far but it has been unplugged for 3 months this time. Here's hoping :-)
I bought my HG281 back in '08 when they were $489 on sale.

Re: Hanns G HG281D 2 second black screen and parts help

I went off the list of parts from several different posts regarding this monitor and basically found I need to re-purchase about half of the capacitors. Obviously I would not blame anyone buy myself, but I have seen several mentions for a 1000 uF 25v capacitor when my board has a 680 uF 25v cap.

I also purchased several others that are 120 uF replacing 100uF.

I'm not worried about the above, but I've read higher voltage doesn't matter as much as the uF. Am I overreacting?

In case anyone was interested, all the caps on the logic board are 25v and not 16v.
I put it back together temporarily until new parts come, but now it displays a solid red color.

Those two cap are for circuit with less than 5V, so 16V cap will be more than enough.

Thanks, what do you think about the 25v capacitors on the power supply board?

Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

                                            Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

ipad pro 9.7" blew a SMD component while replacing the screen 🤦‍♂️

i have an ipad pro 9.7" (1st gen) A1674 where i replaced the screen, but never attached the screen to the frame/chassis (glued down) due to the ipad being previously dropped so the new screen would never fit in the frame properly. so i need flex/bend the chassis to eventually fix the new screen in properly. so i temporarily just applied blue tape around the edges of the screen to keep it in place. when watching videos with the ipad the screen started flicker, so i though maybe the new quasi cheap amz screen i purchased was going out. so i disconnected then reconnected with power still on,...

Trouble to identify part (Lunii screen) for replacement

Hello guys. I'm a complete noob in electronics. I'd like to repair my child Lunii's (a "story box"), basically an audio player that allows the childs to choose between several options the places, characters, objects of the story, and then play a story according to the choice of the child. There is a screen that display the selected option before each choice. The Lunii fell and the screen is now broken.
I'd like to repair it (probably just have to change the part, because the lunii still works perfectly fine) but I can't manage to identify the part/order it online. Do you have any...
