(No pics, room is a mess)

    Main (desktop) computer:

    AMD FX8120 @ 4GHz
AMD 7950 3GB gfx card (thinking of putting another in there for Xfire)
    16GB DDR3 RAM
    Gigabyte 990FX mobo
500GB WD system HDD plus 3 other drives of various manufacture set up as a storage space (jbod)
    Windows 8 Pro
    AOC 23" 1920x1080 monitor
manky old case and Corsair 850W PSU

    2GB ECC DDR RAM
2x 73GB SCA (U320) HDDs in striped array

    SQL Server 2008 R2

    ================
    Server 2 (homebuilt):
    Phenom II 940BE
    8GB DDR2 RAM
    1x 250GB SATA Drive (possibly a Samsung)
4x 36GB U160 SCSI drives (not currently connected due to heat issues)
    Server 2008 R2
    IIS 7.5

    ================
    Laptop (Samsung R525):

      Here's my main rig :
      Phenom II X4 965
      Asus M4A89GTD Pro/USB3
      2x2Gb DDR3 1600 Kingston HyperX
      2x4Gb DDR3 1600 Kingston HyperX
XFX Radeon HD5850 XXX (got it for a few euros in a lot of dead cards, complete in the box, happened a component was missing, that's it)
Creative Soundblaster Audigy ES, the original one, mostly for use of the Live! Drive II bay (it has MIDI I/O ports, found in a computer in the trash)
      OCZ Vertex 2 60Gb
      Western Digital Caviar Green 1Tb
Seagate 160Gb SATA (found in a computer in the trash)
Maxtor 200Gb IDE (found in a computer in the trash)
      OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W
BenQ DVD burner (found where you guessed)
all of this in a HP TC2120 server case (found...well you know)

That thing will run FarCry 3 in Ultra perfectly fine in 1680x1050.

As for the screen, it's a Samsung Syncmaster T220, I'm not gonna say where I found it.

Then is my Voodoo machine to play older games :
NEC Powermate ML-1 base (found in the trash) :
      Celeron 1300Mhz Tualatin
      Gigabyte GA-6OF
      2x256Mb SDR PC133 Micron
3dfx Voodoo 5 5500 64Mb AGP (no I bought this one, super cheap in a lot of old computer parts)
      M-Audio Revolution 7.1
      Maxtor 80Gb
      Pioneer DVD player (slot-in)
      Fortron 250W

I was quite surprised when i got the board that it supported DDR3.
In the pic i posted that's when it had 2x 512mb sticks of DDR2 667Mhz..i then bought 2x 1GB DDR3 1333 sticks,Its only a web browsing machine so more than that would be wasted on Xp imo.

Here is a picture of my second machine. My main is under the desk and i don't want to drag it out now. I will get a HD 7770 ghz edition and two more gigs of ram (total 4gb) and then snap a pic of it. Probably going to get a Phenom soon, they are VERY cheap here (used ones). I have swapped that Codegen pice of junk for a Enhance 300w workstation PSU that i moded (new japanese caps, fan mod, custom black paintjob) and it works very nicely. When i get my 7770 then i'm going to change that single core 64 machine's 8400gs with that 5450.

Memories are on 1600 Mhz CL10, the above is copy paste from Aida64 and the quick summary only lists the SPD settings, not the actual setting.

Radeon 4850 is passively cooled with Accelero S1 rev.2
why the hell are you using DDR3-1333 @ C9? That sucker should be able to take 1866 @ C9, or if you want to pay out the ass 1866 @ C8

I know the memories can probably do 1866 CL11.. i doubt they can do CL8 because they're larger dies ... the sticks are 2 x 8 GB , not 2x4 GB.
I'm just too lazy to reboot computer over and over and test the memories for some overclocking.. i don't really trust the windows software overclocking to push hardware to limits. I don't even overclock the fx-8320 because I don't need to, it's fast enough with it's own auto overclocking.

Anwyay, since then I bought an Aerocool Xpredator Full Tower case:

                              http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/artic...se-Review/1264

awesome case, though if the case isn't perfectly flat on the floor/desk the plastic fins at the top can resonate/vibrate from the fan under them and other vibrations in the case.

Also got a Radeon 7770 Ghz edition... nice video card, much lower power consumption... the whole system now idles at 90w (fx-8320, 16gb, 4 hdds, 3 fans, 7770 ghz ed.)

Still using my Acer T310 (E61ML) from 2005, as I've had no real need for anything newer or more powerful (although compiling large programs like MAME is dead slow compared with today's PCs, usually taking 3-4 hours for a clean build).

                                CPU: 2.8GHz Celeron (Northwood)
                                BIOS: Phoenix R01-B3 01/14/2004
                                HDD1: 40GB Seagate 340015A (OEM), power-on hours 0xEAC0 (60096 hours)
                                HDD2: 60GB Seagate 360015A (trash-find), power-on hours 0xC289 (49801 hours)
DVD: AOPEN COM5232/AAH DVD/CD-RW combo (OEM). Occasionally it might even open after 15 or so attempts, the rubber band for the open/close mechanism is stretched and the motor just slips. Not that I use CDs these days anyway (as it can only burn CDs, not DVDs).
OS: Windows XP Pro (never reinstalled since ~2006, upgraded from OEM Home Edition)
GPU: ATI Radeon 9550 256MB (the original is an onboard 32MB SiS chipset)
                                RAM: 1GB DDR400 (running at DDR333, as the board doesn't support 400)
PSU: Thermal Master TM-420-PMSR (from 2010, bought for $2 as 'untested', complete with Fuhjyyu caps... and still working! Installed the same week I signed up to badcaps.net).

The original OEM power supply was an FSP200-60ATV, which failed after 5-6 years due to bulging Teapo caps. It was repairable but I couldn't be bothered so the only thing left of it now are the 470uF 200V primary caps and its 80mm Yate Loon fan.

I have around 30 other PCs in various states of working order (from complete units right down to boards only, and from a Sempron 140 down to a 486 DX2/66).

NOTE: The Radeon HD 6570 does not support crossfire (at least not the one I have). It's installed because I happened to have one, and distributed.net can use multiple GPUs with the OpenCL client. With both GPUs running, I can do a block every six seconds. Oh, and before you say that nVidia cards are better, note that AMD cards run distributed.net faster.
