It seems pretty common with the Acer Xseries monitors.. I have 1 X193W that is flickering pretty badly and makes nasty noises when you plug in the power cord.

Redid some solder connections and it powered up.. Stressing it now.. I noticed initially the power button worked good.. Then occasionally had problems in the morning.. Then stopped.. Came on first time after the quick redo.. did pson.. 5v and the grey signal wire.. The -12v to the modular plate is iffy but its holding well.. I believe the T220 if this is the part is labelled Q1 or O1 on the board.. Usually I do.. I was wanting to get this back in service and jumped thegun.. Looks like I have a short near PS_on or the -12v line to modular plate is causing problems.. Just had a random shutoff.. Time to tear this back out.. Im hoping a cracked solder lead when I put the board back in..
Power button doesn't want to work anymore.. Does anybody have advice for clip on heatsinks for T-220?Leave a comment:

Hello everybody,
My friend brought me an ECS 945G-M3 that had been using for a few years.. He apparently had to keep pushing power to get a boot.. Board had tons of ECS 6.3 1000uF bulging.. Replaced all except one.. and didn't boot.. Anybody else have experience with this board? Seems to me a mix of OST and G-Luxon with some possible panasonics on this board? Does anybody have experience with this board? Pics soon.. Thanks, -

Came from a friend awhile back.. Working pull.. I may have cleaned it but looks new.. I have this sitting around as a backup PSU... Keep it? Trash? I'm sure the caps aren't the greatest.. I can see some OSTs on secondary.. Not sure if I posted about this PSU before.. Works fine.. Very lightly used.. Haven't cracked it open yet..
No shielding for cabling.. Thinnish wires.. A zip tie as a guard unless the actual guard fell inside.. It packs some ok weight, alot more then a cheap cheap unit from a surplus store etc.. Will have to see whats inside soon..

Ultra X3 is back in service.. Thanks for the help everybody.. It hasn't smoked or eletrocuted me yet so I guess that is a good sign..
I was going to place a heatsink on the T-220 but it has a resistor directly underneath.. If it dies in the future I'll see about doing something then.. Maybe custom (shortened) heasink.. Just tested sleep mode and everything works..
I replaced the following caps.. Partial recap..
Teapo 420V 390uF (Unchanged)

I finished the recap.. In the process of reassembling everything.. Just wanted to confirm wiring.. I didn't get good egnough image and dont have schematic... I'm fairly certain I've wired the modular terminals correctly.. Not 100% though.. Please see pictures attached..
I have 3.3 VS and 5VS wires that I'm concerned about.. They lead to the modular plate.. I also have 3.3v/5v wires coming from an onboard sensor chip.. Just wanted to confirm that the 3.3vs (from modular plate) go to same positions.. and the wires from sensor...Leave a comment:

Slow and steady.. Go the 25V 220uF caps replaced.. Waiting on the big secondary caps and the last single 470uF cap.. All seems to be going well..

I located them on ebay.. Based on the data sheet they appear to be 330uF based on dimensions.. These are from egecku / pcmcs..

Slow progress.. Got the bulged cap out.. 1x 16V 1500uF Nichicon HD back in.. Put in in the same spot (elevated off the board) maybe better for airflow? The secondary caps have alot of solder around them... Probably going to needs some braid..
Finishing up sourcing the remainders.. The hard ones are out of the way.. Thanks Behemot!..

The KZG are badcaps.. I've had bad KZE and KZJ aswell.. Thats why they have bulged/leaked.. Definitely get low ESR caps not general purpose.. Also watch out where you order from.. If on Ebay I'd go with egecku for caps.. Nobody else.. Recap the entire board.. If it literally blew up I'd check for other damage..

Hold the power button.. I believe that also resets video mode to whatever you are using.. I don't think you will be able to re-write the bios..
