  • Re: LG 23EA63 - Taking forever to show picture!

LG dont seem to be very co-operative..they asked me for date of purchase/receipt 2 days ago which i no longer have, and said that to them,And i asked them okay if its not in warranty any more how much would it be for you guys to send it off for a repair for me..still waiting on a reply from them.

If they dont reply back to me im done buying LG products.

I've found a matching board for this monitor on Ebay,But its listing had ended so im unsure if it had actually sold or not,I have messaged the seller.

Hi and thanks for your reply,I'm in talks with LG right now to see if my monitor is still in warranty (i doubt it)..but if it isn't im going ive asked them how much would it be for them to send it for repair.

Im betting this will be very expensive though.

Il await their reply,If its out of warranty or too expensive to get repaired il open it up again and take some pictures for you guys.

  • Re: Windows 10 benefits - Are there any?

Windows 10 performs very nicely,I found it to be faster than both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 on my system.

Windows 10 is more efficient at using CPU cycles i heard,And thats why in games that use alot of CPU like for example Battlefield 4,Battlefield 4 performs alot better under Windows 10 and you get more Fps compared to windows 7 or 8.1.

However,Under the hood changes were very positive but there's also a lot of things i despise about windows 10.

1.The Start menu..still they did not give us the full...

  • LG 23EA63 - Taking forever to show picture!

    Hey guys,

Had nothing but problems with this secondary LG monitor of mine (LG 23EA63)

When i first bought it,was fine for a couple of weeks then it would take absolutely forever to show a picture,It would turn on instant..but not show a picture anywhere from 5-20 mins,Then it would stay on and be fine until i turn it off again.

I RMA,d it,They said they fixed it..was okay for some time then, but same issue again now..but my warranty has expired.

I've bought and tried another(genuine) external power brick,Just incase the PSU was the problem,Changing...

Yeah,Don't have the proper equipment,I borrowed the soldering gun & Solder from a friend.

Even though i didn't manage to fix the problem,It was a fun learning experience replacing them caps.

I could sell it for parts,But with postage,Ebay fees etc and not knowing exactly what works and what doesn't...its a lot of hassle and money wise..probably wouldn't be worth it.

This is after i replaced most of the bigger caps..only one i did not replace is that big filter cap.
You can probably tell by my...

    Well little update,

Got all the caps,Replaced them and it still don't work,Exact same results..flashing green power light and screen flashes.

Not worth putting anymore money into it so looks like it will go to the bin. :/

  • Re: Belinea BJ10003

    Sorry for my late reply,

I know you cant tell me exactly whats wrong with it,But i was just going to replace all the caps on the board (as they're cheap enough) and try it again to see it it works,If not its no big loss.

The trouble im having,is getting matching (brands) caps..that are 5mm Lead Spacing.
on Farnell i can get all matched Panasonic FR series (in the values i need) and 5mm Lead Spacing,But Farnell require you to buy minimum order value is £20 for paying with a card which is pathetic.

    So theyre...

Nothing i can do about it pal,I don't have a proper camera so my phone is all that i can use.

I don't have a Meter,This is literally my first attempt at replacing caps ever,I have however done soldering in the past and do know what value caps to get.

Did you see the Vid?...Would you say that's caused by caps?

  • Re: Post your system.......

I was quite surprised when i got the board that it supported DDR3.
In the pic i posted that's when it had 2x 512mb sticks of DDR2 667Mhz..i then bought 2x 1GB DDR3 1333 sticks,Its only a web browsing machine so more than that would be wasted on Xp imo....

Hello and thanks for your reply,

Well i have already removed the two boards so i could take a look underneath them,These are the best pictures i can take as i don't have a real camera so hope they will be enough!

As for supposed fault,To be honest i have a gut feeling that sitting in a VERY cold loft during the winter,The monitor was working fine when it went up sometime last year and was put back in its orig box & wrappings.

as for myself,Ive had a keen interest in electronics for a while, and watch a heap load of electrical...

    Belinea BJ10003

    Hey guys,

Got a 22" belinea 0. display,Its been in the loft/attic for a while,In its original box & wrappings all sealed up..it was working when it went up and now its not.

I first switched it on and the green light, and the screen were flashing very quick..then i turned it off and tried again...nothing,No lights.

So i open up the back to take a look inside (for bulging caps etc) they "Visually" look fine,I have replaced the T2 5Amp fuse on the PSU board...plugged it in and tried again,The green light flashed once and that was it..nothing...
