That fan is a little "caged" style that just screws into heatsink. Notice the shiny screw thread spots, ala P1 style.

the fan was off in a bag.it crumbled when i inspected it.its leads crumbled too.took it awhile to bake like this.cpu,a k6-2 450 was toast on both boards.
surprised it ran as long as it did!

Had this on an HP/asus board with an athlon64 dual core. CPU and RAM was fried, regulation section of the board was soot (behind parallel port), rubycon caps vented, FET's were soot, CPU fan was clogged/rendered inoperable with dust bunnies... I'd hate to see what the rest of their home looked like considering how nasty the inside of their computer was.

Totally stupid design, no fail safe at all on that production board to cut out on overtemp!? With all the expense spared, the maker of this board should have been have over-temp monitor circuit built in to protect investment. Plus K6-2 is hot CPU to boot. With this heatsink, sufficient for DX2 66 but that's barely capable for cooling a 11W CPU (Pentium 100) but with K6-2 450 that requires different heatsink (this is about 30W if K6-2 is a 2.4V version, otherwise 19W for 2.2V).

Head shaking at this...sigh.

to add further insult the burnt board went 6 months ago.the one i fixed was the replacement.i think the customer said it was about $5k.
vaseline not included.

Perhaps add a Papst 120mm AC aluminium fan in the chassi somewhere so it can fail again without problems

Oh, and I'm glad to say we sold the only Salvagnini LASER machine we had at work, hehehe

it had one.it was locked up and burned too.230v fans are not easy to get locally.
got one at midwest surplus in fairborn oh.
nice place which has saved the day many times for my industrial customers.

Well... I've never seen a PLC with bad caps.
