Help identify this transistor from a motherboard?

This is probably the only place I think I can ask this question.

I have a motherboard that was working but has been dropped and a transistor got broken off. No it is not possible to solder it back on as it broke in half.
The characters on it are as follows:
    H I
    882
    2HTA

It was located right by the DDR memory slots. Must be part of the memory VRM. Where can I get a replacement or what would be the equivalent of it from a different manufacturer?
Or at least can someone explain what those marking indicate so I can try looking for it myself?

    This might be it

30v NPN is what is usually on motherboards these days. Make sure you order one with the right package. A photo of the maker logo would be helpful.

There is no logo. Just the text as I have stated in my original post.
But I'm 100% certain Bobdee found the right one.

What do you mean by the right package? That it is strictly NPN?

I have checked DigiKey (the only place I've ever ordered from) but no such transistor is listed in their catalog. Can someone point me to any other equivalent transistor that can be used in it place and is available for immediate purchase?

        Thanks

The closest matches to HI882 I could find are these:

          http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...=497-5202-5-ND

          and

          http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...me=TIP31CFS-ND

Would either of these work to replace the broken HI882?

Too high of a voltage. You will cook the board. Your on the right track. Package refers to form factor, ie TO-251. You want something that is 30 or 40v like the original part.

I've looked at all epitaxial caps on DigiKey, those are all I could find.

Can the epitaxial be replaced with non-epitaxial?

                I also found this guy:

                http://ca.mouser.com/Search/Refine.aspx?Keyword=2SD882

                Would this work?
It appears to be very similar, but its non-epitaxial.

                  it seems about right.

It would appear to closely match. I ordered a few.

                    Thanks a lot!
