Why am I now imagining a slot 1 Pentium 3 being used as a brake pad?

      ...
Somehow they lost the disc or the disc is warped really bad, jammed against something when installed when driven. The heatsinks were there to make sure the pads do not fall out, if the pads fall out the brakes would be gone and there would be no way to stop the car.

Interesting jury rig though not sure what other materials were at hand to do this emergency fix or why the rotor was lost.

Hi, somebody knows the thickness of thermal pads for M15 R1? Or if someone have this Alienware model, can take measure for original thermal pads.

Restore solder pads for SMC on MacBook A1466
          by dbuergi
          Hi all,

i got a A1466 logic board for spare parts but it looks like the SMC ist bad. I got several spares but somehow i was too fast while removing it and ripped some pads off. You can see the damage attached.
Just for experience i would like to restore the lost pads but before i start (haven't done this before) do you have some hints or tutorials how to do it?
As written i want to improve skills so it doesnt matter if it takes longer.

Sony PS4 ADP400DR - help needed figuring out shorted pads under capacitor C 31
          by supravit2000
          Hi!

A friend of mine gave me a dead PS5 to look at. I am totally inexperienced, but when a damage is simple (i.e. failed DAP41 on PS4s, etc.), when replacing just the IC and the other very common failing parts of these consoles, problem is fixed. So I checked the voltage of the PSU - none was present. Model is ADP 400DR. I have a bunch of spare parts around, so first thing I did was to replace the IC DAP 053 (they seem quite expensive, so I put a replacement unit - TEA2016AAT. When plugged to the power outlet, 12V did come present.
So I reassembled the PS5 and pressed the power...

          PAD repair? What are pads?
          by Forumzboard899
          Hello,

This is a Roland MC-505 synthesizer I bought used years ago and 1 of the knobs was bent.

Eventually it started 'ghost editing' by changing the parameter of this knob on its own.

I resoldered the 5 pins on this knob (the two larger solder spots above these 3 smaller ones is for the same knob).

Then it started happening again, or maybe the knob stopped working totally (I set it aside months ago and forgot about it).

I bought a replacement knob/Potentiometer but when I recently opened it up, it seems the previous repair...

          Help with LED brake lights
          by Dannyx
Good day folks. I'm having an issue which has been driving me nuts for the past few days: I CANNOT get some LED brake/parker lights to work on my car. I managed to track down the issue and THOUGHT I solved it, but when I tried it again, it STILL doesn't work....it's one of those "how the hell does this work?" type of deals. *LONG STORY WARNING*

Let's explain some stuff so we're on the same page: I don't know if I'm calling them by their right name to begin with...these bulbs have two intensities: a dim one for the parker and a bright one to indicate braking. They achieve...
