Dear folks, don't bother on that issue - the console was sold long ago for spare parts. I removed literally all the caps, resistors and ic's on the board - and the short was still there. Somebody with proper knowledge could make use of it, I couldn't. Thanks anyway!!!

Sony PS4 ADP400DR - help needed figuring out shorted pads under capacitor C 31
Hi!
A friend of mine gave me a dead PS5 to look at. I am totally inexperienced, but when a damage is simple (i.e. failed DAP41 on PS4s, etc.), when replacing just the IC and the other very common failing parts of these consoles, problem is fixed. So I checked the voltage of the PSU - none was present. Model is ADP 400DR. I have a bunch of spare parts around, so first thing I did was to replace the IC DAP 053 (they seem quite expensive, so I put a replacement unit - TEA2016AAT. When plugged to the power outlet, 12V did come present.
So I reassembled the PS5 and pressed the power...1 Photo

Sony PS4 slim PSU ADP-160ER AAA capacitors value
Hi, guys!
Does anybody know the value of these capacitors on Sony PS4 slim PSU ADP-160ER AAA: C18 and C19. I've circled them in the image (they are missing in the photo.)

Re: PS4 slim SAD-001 board - how to tell the Renesas ic is bad?
That's not possible, mate, as the console itself was already with the HDD missing from the chasis. So, as I've mentioned, after installing a new SSD in it and trying an offline brand new install of OS, the wizard returns that error, which is "terminal hardware failure". Obviously, since the BD drive takes no disks at all, and all the fuses for the drive are fine, I assumed it's the Renesas ic.
Which makes the system a donor, since that ic is married to the APU and if I haven't god an original...

PS4 slim SAD-001 board - how to tell the Renesas ic is bad?
Hi, folks! I am not pro, just watch videos and try to find the error - sometimes it works.
So I have been sold a ps4 with no hdd which should only be replaced. The machine boots up to safe mode and after assembling a new ssd, the update process returns an error su-42118-6 (sometimes SU-41333-4) which after some research, I found out that the console is for the bin as the renesas ic must be bad. The bd drive indeed shows no signs of working order (the button for eject still beeps, though, but a cd is not accepted at all). All the fuses on the board are fine, so are the caps/resistors....

Re: PS4 fat has inconsistent signal after HDMI replacement
Thanks a million, mate! I've fixed it, thanks to your advice!
For anybody having the same problem - it seems that the Panasonic HDMI ic had a pin loose. I nearly broke it when testing.. It's not that easy to spot a loose connection on the chip, so be careful....

Re: PS4 fat has inconsistent signal after HDMI replacement
all the pins are solid, mate :/ I even have a HDMI tester and everything goes where it should on a male plug. 10x for the advice, though!
@CapLeaker - I am not familiar with that freezing stuff, haven't got a clue what it's all about.. but thanks for checking!...

PS4 fat has inconsistent signal after HDMI replacement
Hi, guys!
I am not a professional, all I can do is solder stuff on the boards, so I would really appreciate it if someone with knowledge shares his experience/thoughts on a problem I have with a PS4 console.
My friend gave me an original fat PS4, board model SAB-001, with WLOD, that has been previously opened. I changed the HDMI port, couple of pads on the board were ripped, which I connected to the corresponding caps/resistors? Just did so as in a shown diagram (one of the ground pads I ripped off and left it not connected). However, there was still no signal, so...
