    Re: Asus C90P issues

My unfortune situation when I had a chance to revive Asus V7100 is in big doubt. This is a widescreen semi-DTR notebook with P-M 1.73GHz and has a double oddball Go6600 chip. Daughterboard non-standard MXM, this is smallest with LCD signal connector and this said chip is soldered is equally odd so make rarity a high chances.

Means 200 bucks and out of production from Asus and Ebay has one from time to time and extremely high, around 300 plus.

Reason for this high price is too much demand from users who had their die due to extremely bad design of heatsink that uses thick too soft pad that mushed down once and also staddles the northbridge. So lot of of dead Go6600 chips, far as I can determine, this particular 128MB (4 chips soldered at corners of the Go6600 package is unique to Asus it seems to be.) The ones that uses Go6600 chip has external memory soldered to the standard MXM types or on the notebook's mainboard.

    This particular GPU Asus uses:

Anybody happen to have a good Go6600 chip? 64 or 128mb version or a alternative Asus MXM daughterboard with lesser GPU?

    Sigh. Cheers, Wizard

[TUTORIAL] fix asus bios with bios from asus web support (by razor_amd)
          by razor_amd
With ASUS, not everything is quite so simple. I will show you my way. It may be longer or harder but it is the right way to do it in my humble opinion.

For example, you can have 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all being the same model, all of which will have different BIOS versions.

I will give you an example and my version of preparing BIOS from ASUS website and in the process I am always cleaning Intel ME while doing it so you have fully cleaned BIOS, no DMI data, no password, nothing.

This is the picture of 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all of them being X555LD...

ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI - BIOS Help
          by grimacelord
          Hello,

I have spent the last hour on this and I guess this is just over my head, so here I am.

I have an ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI motherboard here that needs to have the BIOS updated in order to accept the latest CPUs.

The BIOS chips seem to come as a set of two: GD25B64ESIG and GD25B128ESIG. My guess is one of them is a fail-safe for the main BIOS? I really don't know. Or one of them is ME and other is BIOS? I don't know.

Anyway, I took dumps of both chips and then downloaded the latest update for this motherboard from ASUS's website...

help with bios decompose for Asus s5506ma
          by ferah831208
I have an Asus s5506ma that was bricked after a Windows update supposedly when it was updating bios. It seems to be a meteorlake Intel CPU core ultra, I cannot find too much info regarding this hardware, anyone have info about if it contains Intel ME engine and if there is any tool for disassemble spi image like we do with all CSME or TXE versions using the appropriate Intel ME tool? The problem is original bios file Asus provides, has bios guard protection, I downloaded the latest update for Ami_pfat_extractor from plomatov (previous versions of AMI bios guard extractor doesn't work),with that...

Need real mobo dump of BIOS v402 for ASUS PRIME Z590-A - stock image no help
          by DynaxSC
          Hi,

I have a serious problem to program the Z590 chipset SRAM with a Management Engine after replacing the chipset.
The new chipset is factory new and is not containing any Management Engine. Any attempts to program it into the chipset under Windows ends with a failure (eg. Error 20: Management Engine Device not present, or something similar).
Due to the lack of the ME several ports on the board, including all M.2 ports aren't working, booting OS works only on USB. So it's now other way, as to program the chipset with a ME.

Usually on ASUS boards it worked...
