From what I hear, a stock C2D can go pretty cheap because everyone is buying ones as upgrades and tossing away their stock one.

they arent desktop p4's, they are lower power versions that cost a lot more.

                I can debate that.
I have seen a system that used a regular Socket 478 P4 in a laptop however the system was so cheap, it also used regular PC3200 sticks and totally lacked a battery and just had a proprietary power connector.

nope. iirc it was a p4 2.8 (400mhz fsb) with an enormous double heatsink and two big fans-and to make space for these huge heatsinks it was about 2" thick. it was cool in that it has an access panel on the bottom that let you remove the heatsinks easily and swap out the procs. but it was uncool because the mobo was bad

The ISL88739 & ISL88739AHRZ are a highly versatile combo battery charger
configurable for operating as either a Hybrid Power Boost (HPB)

                          Hello Everyone!

I have an Acer Aspire A315-42 laptop. I generally leave it on for long time by closing down its lid (so it enters the sleep mode). Recently, it rained quite heavily in out area. And the humidity and moisture seem to be high. So one late evening, after I opened the lid and turned on the laptop, it did power on as the blue light turned on but after it booted to the desktop screen, just 5-10 seconds after both the screen and blue light went out and laptop shut down (the blue power light turned orange). And after 2-4 seconds that orange light went off and the laptop died.

The bq24745 bq24745RHDR bq24745RHDT is a high-efficiency, synchronous battery charger with an integrated input-current comparator, offering low component count for space-constrained, multi-chemistry battery-charging applications. The input-current, charge-current, and charge-voltage DACs allow very high regulation accuracies that can be easily programmed by the system power-management microcontroller using the SMBus interface. The bq24745 charges two, three, or four series Li+ cells, and is available in a 28-pin, 5-mm x 5 mm QFN package.

The bq24745 features dynamic power management...

how to prevent a connected charger from draining battery when not charging?
                          by flat-earther
I have an RC radio handset(Taranis QX7) which doesn't have internal battery charger which means I had to remove the battery every time I needed to charge it.
So to improve it, I added a 15W USB-C charger board(link) inside and soldered it to the same connector on the PCB where the battery plugs into, great, now I can simply charge it with a USB-C cable.

but the problem I found is that after the radio sat for two weeks without being used the 2S 18650 battery that I'm using was at 4.2V!
So the battery is backfeeding the charger and being drained.

                          How can I prevent...
