Ahtlon XP in Dual MP board?

It's been a few years, but I remember reading how you could mod two Athlon XP CPU's and use them in a board design for MP's. Does anyone know hope to do this?

You have to short an L bridge on Athlon pcb so the motherboard recognizes it as a Athlon MP cpu: the exact bridge depends on Athlon core revision. I think it's better explained on Cpumsr tricks page and Fab51.
If you wants to have two cpus running, then be sure they're identical - same core, same frequency. Same revision isn't strictly required but may help avoid exceptional issues turning into lockups.

      google l bridge modding.
i did a bunch of it years back but a bit rusty now.
there are l bridge combinations to denote athlon, duron, mobile,mp,and a few other setups.

        Buy two semprons 3000+'s...

        They are rebadged MP's...

If you put them in a Dual MP board they come up as MP1900+'s...

Better yet get two XP-M 3000+ processors and close the MP bridge...

I already have two 1600+'s. It's odd because I found the second one in a curbside computer after a flood. It works and all that thou! =D

Thanks you all for the replies also.
