    Windows 10 "accidental upgrades"

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonke...atic-installs/

Yes, Microsoft has pushed a "bug" out on the updates that makes it attempt to install Windows 10, and succeed if you're logged in as an admin.

See the last line of my sig for thoughts on this.

Things I've fixed: anything from semis to crappy Chinese $2 radios, and now an IoT Dildo....

Excuse me while i do something dangerous

You must have a sad, sad boring life if you hate on people harmlessly enjoying life with an animal costume.

Sometimes you need to break shit to fix it.... Thats why my lawnmower doesn't have a deadman switch or engine brake anymore

They used to call that sort thing an undocumented feature.

Don't worry, it'll be fixed in the next service pack. (~ a year from now)

Service Packs are dead, they now call it *drumroll* updates!
            Yay!

And the first "service pack" was already released last week, it's the "Windows 10 November Update"
Internally it will simply be: "1511" for 2015-November

And in an unusually moronic decision they decided to NOT release the ISO files for it, they actually pulled the ISO's.
So basically you have to download the RTM version released in June, and then update via Windows update, so stupid it hurts!

That's called "chain-yanking," if ya know what I mean. M$ wants all its users to be their little bitches, forever locked in. Look at what happened with OE and outlook.com- wanna migrate that shit to a non M$ platform? Good luck!

Why any person in their right mind would WANT to download Microshaft Windows 10 is beyond me.

some people are stupid and just see that 10 is more than 8 and 8 is more than 7
or they just think that older versions will just stop working!

                      Re: Windows 10 "accidental upgrades"

dunno. might be the dx12 propaganda getting to ppl and fooling them into future proofing their computers whatever that is.

this brings us back to the dual core vs quad core debate back in the day in 2007-2010. only a few games were dual threaded and none were quad threaded. the game devs said that "it is very difficult to multi thread games." so the smart thing to do is to get a faster dual instead. if quads are the future then why get a shitty slow primitive quad "now" when they are going to come out with better quads in the future?! i dont see how this "future proofing" is possible unless one had access to time travel...

u want future proof then get a time machine, travel to the future, get a piece of future tech that has yet to come out and then come back to the present. there! thats proper future proofing done correctly...

                        Re: Windows 10 "accidental upgrades"

DX is rubbish - allways was.
openGL is the 3D api to use.

m$ tried to get the gfx card makers to drop openGL & put DX into the firmware once - they got told where to stick it!
