Re: Dropped computer
Yup. The primary cap is an NCC SMQ, which is fine. It's a totally different story with the CapXon on the secondary. If it's a newish PSU, then they probably haven't failed yet, but bear in mind that they do have a very poor reputation.I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

Re: Dropped computer
yea, if the caps fail in the psu i will most likely just recap it. I also believe ive solved this issue... I reseated the everything and then updated the bios and it seems to be working fine now.Comment

by nicktasiosI recently picked up a Quadra with a Apple Multiple Scan 17 Display. The Quadra was not working, it clearly had corrosion from leaking caps so I replaced them and luckily it chimed and worked properly.
The next problem to tackle was the screen. Sometimes it turns on and off multiple times before finally turning on, and then it sometimes turns purple. After waiting some time, without doing anything, it regains all colors. Another symptom is that it sometimes seems to momentarily blink.
Also, not sure if this is related, but sometimes, after experiencing these problems,...-

I've a Pixma mg2550s printer/scanner All In One
when I try to scan but there's no ink cartridge it gives an "error code 2,140,21"
scanning requires no ink so it's obvious this is a scam basically an artificial block they put in place for $ reasons
so how do I bypass this? is there a hack? maybe a fixed firmware
nb. got this new Pixma at a bargain price but I defo wont be buying another Canon product if there's no fix for this "feature" -
