Hi all,
I do repairs to computers and have just come up against a new issue & wondered if anyone here has experienced this.
Was about to replace a cracked screen on an HP 2000 laptop & before I did, I tried to power it up and had no response. Replaced battery with a known good charged one and same thing.
Tried with known good power adapter, with and without battery, still nothing.
Disassembled machine, unplugged video cable, and it powers up with either battery and/or power adapter.
Plug screen back in, no power and seems to short out power adapter.
Tried different known good screen and same thing... shorts out.
I'm thinking maybe video cable is bad? But, not sure about ordering a new one in case it's a board issue.
Anyone seen this before?
Thanks
