so my computer is being a real ass. the ICH7 USB controller seems to have decided to quit on me under windows, well the driver anyway. all the basic windows USB drivers are not loading and device manager gives a code 10. i have been accessing the pc using remote desktop from my server box which is far from ideal... any ideas why this happens? i can get the ports working for 1-2 reboots by uninstalling them in device manager... to me it almost sounds like malware or a script kiddy... any advice what to do bar reinstalling windows? today is not my day haha...

Check to see if it is loaded on your system any version of USB driver by Prolific.
By uninstalling it, your system will return to normal. -

Re: USB Hub Code 10
Have you tried running hitman pro to see if there is any malware / rootkits your regular av isn't finding?
Kiriakos was referring to other drivers that interfere with the usb, you have to look at more then just the ich7 drivers.
Why are you having to reboot this computer so often that you know it goes bad after 1-2 boots?Fixed so far 12 lcd's , 1 plasmas, 5 monitors, 0 dlp's (plan to keep the dlps at 0). and 3 atx power supplies, and 2 motherboards.Comment

Re: USB Hub Code 10
no i have not tried hitman pro. long story short mother was complaining about slow internet and decided to turn it off... its never been the same since, first a fan bearing quit and then the USB ports wont work under windows. any linux distro they are fine
i can update to the latest drivers or uninstall them and they will work/reboot will make them work, but after that dead again. the reason for massive reboots is looking for virii/spyware
would the reboot potentially indicate a cap issue? (but then again everything works perfectly in the bios, bootloader and linuxLast edited by luke10050; 08-18-2013, 03:45 AM.Comment

Re: USB Hub Code 10
its a driver incompatibility the drive could be colliding with a driver for say a broadcom chip or a card reader or etc that wouldnt have an incompatibility with an older driver, or it could be an older driver on the system causing it.
strip the drivers that aren't used anymore, update ALL the drivers and it may fix your system and may give it a speed boost.
take it from somebody who has read the winNT source code, the way windows is built opens it up to a very high potential for conflicts between drivers. other os's only have a fraction of the potential for driver conflicts that windows has..Last edited by goontron; 08-18-2013, 12:18 PM.Things I've fixed: anything from semis to crappy Chinese $2 radios, and now an IoT Dildo....

by Sorrow1Hi,
I try to repair an old Intergraph TDZ 2000 from 1998. It is a dual Pentum II machine based on Intel 440LX chipset. There is a non-removable bios chip named PhoenixBios B1787840. I cannot see any physical damage to the board. All caps look OK.
It shows no picture and POST stops with code 2F/2E regardless whether or not any graphic card is plugged in. If memory is removed, it stops on previous code 28/17 and stars beeping. I tested both CPUs in another machine and I also use RAM from another machine.
When I recorded video of POST card and played it in slow... -

I have an MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4 (MS-7525) which underwent LGA1700 replacement and had a missing resistor in the VRM section. The missing resistor RV170 (49,9Ω) has been resoldered, and I have also replaced a demaged LGA1700 socket.
Generally the board does boot to Windows, but not always in the first attempt, but after the second attemp to boot the board with Power Button. Also restarting the board from Windows ends up with stuck boot process, but restarting the board again (long push Power Button or switching off and on PSU). Under Windows etherything works... -
by clooI recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.
So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...01-06-2025, 06:02 AM -
