    Re: Traffic shaping ?

If that's your max line speed of 1.5mb, no! It looks like normal throughput for a line of that speed. That's exactly what I saw on a 1.5 on a local isp that does no traffic shaping whatsoever. What you're seeing are the throughput caps throttling you, it can also be congestion. A WireShark dump would be much more useful.

To test for traffic shaping, visit the Glasnost test. Google it for the URL.

Curiousity: what are you running that's generating that kind of pattern?

Usually traffic shaping don't make triangles even if it's a shape... Though I wonder what circular traffic looks like.

I'm used to seeing the peaks even.
I use http://www.bwmonitor.com/ to monitor traffic.
            I was downloading Debian wheezy.

Fortinet 50E Slowing down internet throughput
                by mon2
Hello. Coming to you from the laptop forum. Have a client with the Fortinet 50E that has 320 Mbps as internet input speed but only 20 Mbps output on each and every downstream port (using FAST.COM to benchmark).

Reseller is stating the Fortinet is 'worn out' which does not sound logical at all unless the flash memory is 'worn out'. They, of course, want to sell another + onsite installation fees.

Can anyone share feedback on this unit? What can cause this sluggish behavior. From our knowledge, this device is snooping on the traffic to halt viruses / hack attacks, etc....

                AD7276, AD7277, AD7278, AD7274, AD7273 Datasheet

                AD7276, AD7277, AD7278, AD7274, AD7273

The AD7276, AD7277, AD7278, AD7274, AD7273 are 12-bit/10-bit/8-bit, high speed, low power, successive approximation analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), respectively. The parts operate from a single 2.35V to 3.6V power supply and feature throughput rates of up to 3 MSPS. The parts contain a low noise, wide bandwidth track-and-hold amplifier that can handle input frequencies in excess of 55 MHz.

The conversion process and data acquisition are controlled using CS and the serial clock, allowing the devices to interface with microprocessors...

Wireless throughput in A band (N300)
                by Ascaris
                Hi everyone,

I am having a strange issue that is the reverse of what I had a couple of weeks ago. Now I can't seem to get decent wireless throughput on my D-Link router (which previously worked fine) OR my Netgear router with DD-WRT (though that same router is fast with the stock firmware).

If you saw the thread about recapping my WNDR3700, you might want to skip the next four paragraphs as I recap (no pun intended).

I recently discovered that my wireless throughput on my Netgear WNDR3700v1 was not what it should be. I'd been using the 3700 without issue...

Hunting down a virus in an office
                by mon2
Hi. We have an office client who has been contacted by the local internet provider that one of the office Windows PCs is infected with a virus. The report has been confirmed. Apparently through a remote outside trigger, this virus is performing brute force attacks around the world from this local IP address at varying times. Aside from low level formatting each PC, what is the recommended approach for this case? Running F-prot (suggested by the internet supplier) has come up empty. We are planning to run hijack this. At this time, we do not know which PC is creating this issue. Internet provider...
