    Reflowing

Has anyone seen a good guide/s on reflowing? ive been looking around a bit but most of the information is 50/50, seems like nobody WANTS to write a guide. if any of you guys have an idea on this, it would be extremely appreciated.

    Information is power $$$

You'll probably never find a one-fit solution to reflowing/reballing as ALL components vary.

The best way to learn it yourself is to buy yourself an IR/Reflow station and toy around settings.

But if you go by theory (lead-free vs lead solder) you'll find "reflow/reball" profiles on the web.

Achieving a profile curve, meanwhile, is an art...

Not only that, temperatures and times you should use also vary according to your environment. Things such as humidity and room temperature, window positions, whether there's any AC or not in the room, do matter.

Get the tools and play around

I killed many BGA components when first learning! Too much heat, too long with heat, Not right curve, Not enough heat etc etc etc

After much practice I can successfully reflow with hot air.... And for the first time managed to do a complete reball and flow using nothing but hot air and no templates, or balls, or anything else fancy No idea how much life the GPU has left now though! HAHA but thought id have fun trying it out

          ME Firmware Cleaning Guide
          by SMDFlea
Here`s a quick ME Firmware cleaning guide.

The guide is basic, its main goal is to show you how to use intel FIT,its highly recommended that you all follow the guide posted at win-raid

(The attached FIT version is 11, if your ME Firmware (FW) is not 11.0.*.* follow the win-raid guide. Use the tools version for your ME FW, for example: ME System Tools v9.1 For systems running ME v9.0 - v9.1)

A video, software (intel FIT) and practice bios are all included. I`ll post a better video and more advanced guide at a later date.

Extremely Strange Issues with charging and battery on Zephyrus G14(GA401)
          by DaLZy
I have recently come into possession of a G14 that cannot detect or charge it's battery. Initially both windows and the bios agreed that the battery was on "0%" but the laptop was able to run without AC power. I was able to get the laptop to detect the true charge of the battery(26%) in windows for a moment but it wouldn't charge or update the percentage when the battery drained. I attempted a few more EC resets and battery reconnections and now the battery shows at 0% in bios and 100% in windows. Additionally the machine is extremely laggy when plugged into AC. When on ac power in the...

MacBook Pro A1708 - CPU extremely slow, locked @ 0.39ghz; fan full speed
          by gjlpereira
          Hi forum.

I'm working on a macbook pro, model a1708, that is running extremely slow.

Everything on it seams to work just fine, it just works extremely slow; painfully slow; especially running macos (windows and linux actually run OKish on it, slow, but usable).
One other symptom of the problem with the machine is that the fan is always running at full speed.

This machine has been worked on by someone else previously; they tried to repair it, but with no success. The motherboard does have sings of being worked on, but it all looks good/OK; like...
