Re: BBS POPUP Error massage
It's not an error. It's a boot selection menu, allows you to choose what device to boot from. -
Re: BBS POPUP Error massage
check your boot settings in the bios, it usually reflects your boot priority.
If you have hard-drives, optical drives or USB flash drives hooked up it should be listed in the boot menu. Enable your onboard lan pxe rom and see if it shows.
If it doesn't, sounds like a bad bios, reflash with the lastest bios from ecs for your board.
You can try clearing the cmos before flashing to see if it's just corrupt settings causing your issue, it will be a jumper on your board, refer to your motherboard manual for location.Comment

Re: BBS POPUP Error massage
go to ECS website
www.ecs.com.tw
Select download, type in your model and revision of your board, go to bios, download the latest version, and there will be instructions on how to flash. Be sure it's the correct one, and don't turn off the computer or lose power during a flash otherwise you'll brick it.Comment

Re: BBS POPUP Error massage
Do you have any drives connected to the motherboard ? - for example hard disk, CD/DVD or floppy
If none of those are connected, may explain why you cannot access BIOSbetter to keep quiet and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubtComment

Re: BBS POPUP Error massage
You've mentioned BBS Popup, which is related to media (drives) from which it can boot
If, like you've said, you've no media connected from which it can boot, it may be getting hung up in firmware (aka BIOS) before it gets to process you pressing the (presumably) Del key to get into BIOS setup
Try connecting some known working drivesbetter to keep quiet and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubtComment

Re: BBS POPUP Error massage
If it "changes to[go-!> boot menu]" sounds like it wants to display a boot menu, but cannot find device(s) it thinks are capable of booting from, hence cannot display a boot menu
Are they known working drives that you have tried ? - in other words, drives that function properly with other motherboards
Do you wait after "changes to[go-!> boot menu]" ? - perhaps there is a time-out interval after which boot menu appears
Have you tried forgetting about F8 and pressing only Del, assuming Del is the appropriate key for access to BIOS settings ?
If all else fails, try clearing CMOS - there may be a jumper which does that, or for 100% certainty remove the CR2032 BIOS battery and leave it out overnight
Then next morning replace battery, start motherboard, and press only Del to access BIOS
If you do manage to access BIOS, load Default settings, then see if it co-operatesbetter to keep quiet and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubtComment

Re: BBS POPUP Error massage
ECS?
Sure all the caps are good?
Could be a fried chipset or the like... ECS doesn't exactly scream "high quality"...sigpic

by JaquesPrattI have a Vizio D32f-E1 LCD TV that does NOT have a TCON board.
This TV recently went through some 'death throes' and now won't boot. The first problem that began to manifest was while watching tv, the screen would 'freeze', and the image would dim over a few seconds until it was very dark. HOWEVER, the audio of the show would continue as normal. I could power off the TV for 5-20 seconds, power back on, and the video would be normal. This would occur 1-3 times when the TV was first started, and would not happen again after the TV was 'warmed up'. Not ideal, but this glitch was manageable.... -
by privato89Hello everyone,
I'm facing an issue with a HEG-001 motherboard that is unable to complete the Second-Stage Boot. I'd like to start directly with my conclusion, which is the decision to replace the MAX77621AEWI chip, and understand if it could be a correct evaluation.
Before I dive into the process that led me to this decision, I want to mention that I have a fully equipped lab where I can perform any kind of tests.
Let's begin:
Following some guides online, I tried to understand how the Boot phase of the Nintendo Switch works, and what are the... -
by hinisaI'm using Xiaomi Router 4A gigabit edition as wireless repeater. It worked fine for 2 years or so, but last week, wireless started to disappear.
When I unplug/replug the power, it was working fine for a day/half a day or so until it freezes again.
After testing with different power supply adapters and concluding it wasn't the issue I finally opened the case and this was the situation:
Anyway I proceed to clean up the mess and replace all caps but unfortunately it made the situation worse. Now router can't even boot, either it freezes during...-
