What are these connectors on my PSU?

So I purchased this supply for $10 at an electronics surplus place; it's brand new, never been opened, even smells new. But now I need to know how to use it. It looks more like it has two motherboard connectors, but not only that, they are also not standard, male modular connectors, they are female. WTF?

I'm hoping someone can shed light onto what I do with these. I'm assuming one side is a motherboard connector and the other originally had a break-out cable of sorts to power all the accessories.

    -Jay

p.s. I realize those screws on the side could cause a problem. I'll deal with that later or get the sort of case it belongs in... preferably a SuperMicro case or similar.

Looks like a proprietary server/workstation unit.

Agreed. Judging from the handles and screws, I'd say it's a hot-swap PSU.

It looks like it is made for a tape drive. They usually have the knurled screws and the box shaped power supplies. The one I have has two of them that look similar.

Darn it; good thing I only paid $10 for it, if it doesn't power a computer. If I could just get 3Y to send me some docs then maybe I could Jimmy it to work; I don't mind making cables.

            http://www.3ypower.com/products.php

Your PSU must be a legacy product. It is no longer listed. You can contact them directly or indirectly: many of their employees have Linkedin pages (google: 3y power technology linkedin).

Some Sony & Dell desktops had 18pin PSU connectors. Some servers had 18pin PSU connectors.

I'm sure it was some sort of server, but I have no idea what. And nobody from the company contacted me back.

Maybe time to tare it apart and trace the outputs?

                  Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Crimping CAT7 connectors high failure rates
                  by CapLeaker
I’ve had and got a few projects using quality CAT6 and CAT7 23awg solid copper, shielded, direct burial cable. Each time I use CAT7 connectors, most of them fail making good connections to the 4 wire pairs after crimping. I tied a couple of crimping tools, thinking my crimper is bad. Also used different CAT7 RJ45 connector manufacturers. Same thing. I kinda calculate 6 connectors to make one cable!
Get this: I use CAT5 or CAT6 connectors, no problem. Very rare I have a miss crimp with those. So what gives?! ...

                  Are USB C connectors standard
                  by Eniaro
I have a number of laptops with damaged USB-C connectors.
I wonder if I can buy a few replacement connectors from Mouser to keep, as it seems like the wafer in the middle breaks easily and oftentimes causes shorts.
I do know there are multiple connectors out there, but I'm curious to know which are most commonly used and how can I identify and purchase the correct ones.
I purchased USB mini-B connectors in the past, only to find out that the connector was flipped (Lenovo smh).

Desoldering - soldering BGA chip close plastic mini fpc connectors ?
                  by corrize
Hello, I need your advise please ? I need to remove and replace the BGA black chip with fpc connectors around. The PCB is small, from camera.

There is no plastic component directly under, on the other face, (only fuse and oscillator I can remove if they are sensitives to heat), but there is a lot of very small smd components I don't want to desolder by mistake.

                  I have :
                  - hot air, and a
                  ll stuff around
                  - true kapton tape
                  - 140 and 180 degree soldering paste
                  - bismuth
                  - little hot plate 250 degree max
                  - the new BGA chip with probably

How to clean fpc connectors oxydated ?
                  by corrize
Hello, do you know if it is possible to clean oxydated fpc connectors until it back brilliant please ?
I know the best is to replace, but sometime micro fpc are very little oxydated and very hard (or unable) to find as new. So, there is may be a chemical product for that ?
I use vinegar for rust on metal screw or little metal pieces and I finish with WD-40 for protect, else the rust can come back. That works pretty good.
I not yet tryed on connector. Do you have a good method please ?
