LCD Compatibility? Inspiron 24 3580 vs Inspiron 24 5410? Who has that elite LCD, a.k.a. "ElCD" or "El Cid" knowledge?
Anyone have the esoteric knowledge to know if I can use an older 3580 LCD on a 5410? I do not care about touch capability.

Is it possible to test the relay without it being hooked up to the pump motor? It is the normal 5-1-2 configuration, as far as I understand it.

My LCD went out on my old (2002) monitor. The speakers still function. I hooked up sound to it & was delighted to see that I could still use it, but that was short lived. Evidently, it senses that no monitor is connected, and it powers the board down.
Is there a clever (or not clever) way that I can trick it into staying on permanently?

I have a 1155 CPU. Looking for a cheap mobo for a cheap build. The 8200 SFF mobo is cheap, but it has wacky, proprietary pinouts. I know just enough to get myself in trouble (I say that to temper expectations! Haha!). I have a few questions:

I am considering building a PC around this. The biggest problem (apart from my miserly endowment of cranial matter), is getting video from it. It has no VGA or HDMI out. I guess I have two options:
1. Mini PCI-E to PCI-E adapter + PCI-E x1 GPU
2. Get video from LCD connector
Be there an amateur-friendly guide on measuring video signals so I can cipher the LCD connector? Or should I leave such to grown-ups who actually own oscilloscopes?... -

I recommend that you follow the advice on here.
1. Confirm that the drive is OK (find diagnostic software from the manufacturer). We can help if you actually give us make/model.
2. Try installing on a regular HDD. Confirm that the laptop boots it. Image the HDD install onto the SSD.Leave a comment:
