Is ZE1000 the exact model number? I used to use a ze1210, and its heatsink also got extremely warm. During normal use, the computer ran hot enough to smell. That laptop was also too slow to perform basic tasks.

ZE 1000 is right! But i also have another old one that is the 1210 sitting beside it...All the drivers on the HP site for the 1210 were right..including the bios..Its not froze all evening since i replaced the cpu , but not sure if that will fix it or not..Im letting it run..I just fix up a few cheap laptops for kids just to get on the internet , most these kids can't afford nothing high$ , so i just put a little bigger cpu & ram in them, helps them out a good bit for what they are...Just dont understand why the bios for the 1000 says its not the right one..

I've come across some really old computers that require updating the BIOS sequentially. In other words, you can't just update to the latest version, but you must update to each version before it fist. It's worth a shot...

Yeah, post a pic. The product # is what you need, which is different from the model #. You type the product # in at support.hp.com and it will resolve the model number for you. Look for a 6 character code on the label that's not the serial.

There is an application called Speed Fan that will tell you the internal temperature of the CPU. You can watch the temperature go up and down as the fan turns on and off. If you put a fan underneath and have it run all the time then the temperature will go low enough so the internal fan wont turn on.

HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec2523nd - Dimm2 slot disabled after corrupt bios repair? Advice requested.
                      by Bloodhoundje
                      Hi everyone,

I have been doing hardware repair as a hobby for some years now and recently decided to learn about repairing laptops as a fun challenge.

I managed to get my hands on a "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2523nd" notebook that only shows a white power LED and doesnt respond to anything.

After initial testing I concluded the bios seems to be corrupted since all voltages are normal and there are no shorts. HP has a feature for a bios restore from USB with winkey+B for this model. This did not work.

I have desoldered the bios chip (GigaDevice...

Dell 9010 MT BIOS Update Always Fails
                      by mikeybass
Hi, I hope some one has some advice for me. I searched the forums but didn't see anything relevant. I acquired two identical Dell 9010 Mid Tower computers from a business office upgrade (they were going to throw them out). Both of them have the same motherboard (00F82W). One of them works flawlessly. The other one had a corrupted BIOS. I tried flashing numerous main BIOS and EC files from the internet, but none of them worked. I decided to copy the main BIOS and EC from the working 9010 computer and successfully flashed the corrupted BIOS. This got the computer able to boot again and run norm...

Fixed: Lenovo P14s Gen 1 (type 20Y1, 20Y2) Laptop (ThinkPad) bricked by a withdrawn BIOS update (r1buj82w)
                      by akwky
                      Hi!
Went dumpster-diving and found a bricked Lenovo P14S in trash, few weeks earlier. Symptoms - no screen, no POST, no beep, just keyboard LEDs flashing on powerup. Mute button+LED was responding though, and the display self-test was still working (via the key combo Ctrl+Fn+Power held for some seconds, see the Service manual).

Incidentally, Windows 11 have recently started auto-flashing computer BIOS in our region. Even more suspiciously, Lenovo has released a BIOS update just few days before the PC was trashed. About a week later, the BIOS update image has been oficially marked...

[BIOS REQUEST] HP Pavilion 15-BS521TU - Black screen after update BIOS to F.73
                      by AgustinLorenzo
                      Hi boys,

This is my first post in BADCAPS and I hope I don't make any mistakes and give the correct explanations.

Yesterday a friend brought me this laptop home to expand the RAM to 16GB of RAM and update it since it had been abandoned recently.

Everything was fine, until I made the mistake of updating the BIOS to version F.73 from version F.24, since after according to HP "updating correctly" the laptop never worked again, leaving the screen black but the fan is working and the light of M.2 is on.

After having carried out all the frequent...

                      Update bios EFCN58WW to EFCN59WW
                      by al3m0di
Update bios EFCN58WW to EFCN59WW for solving The Connected AC adapter has a lower wattage than the recommended AC adapter

                      I have a Lenovo Legion 5 15imh05a device that I bought used online. It came with a 20V 8.5A 170W charger.

                      The BIOS version is EFCN58WW.

When I turn on the device, it displays the message:
"The Connected AC adapter has a lower wattage than the recommended AC adapter..."

The device rarely charges the battery, and even when it does, it doesn't show that it's charging.

                      I've tried
