Update bios EFCN58WW to EFCN59WW for solving The Connected AC adapter has a lower wattage than the recommended AC adapter
I have a Lenovo Legion 5 15imh05a device that I bought used online. It came with a 20V 8.5A 170W charger.
The BIOS version is EFCN58WW.
When I turn on the device, it displays the message:
"The Connected AC adapter has a lower wattage than the recommended AC adapter..."
The device rarely charges the battery, and even when it does, it doesn't show that it's charging.
I've tried the following:
- Tested a 230W charger from another device, and the message disappeared and the device worked normally.
- Tested the 170W charger on the device that normally uses the 230W charger, and it worked fine.
- Removed the battery and held the power button for over 60 seconds.
- Installed both Windows 10 and Windows 11, but the issue was not resolved.
My device is currently running Windows 11.
I searched for a BIOS update using the Lenovo Vantage app, but no updates are shown.
I searched for BIOS updates on the Lenovo website and found the version EFCN59WW,
but it is listed under the Windows 10 driver updates,
and I don't see any BIOS updates for Windows 11.
Can I update the BIOS using this Windows 10 .exe file while on Windows 11?
And will the BIOS update resolve the issue with the charger and the message that is appearing?
