    PSU Question

    so after this thread:

    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=16939

    I got a new corsair 850TX

Lately, the burning has gotten worse (only when I play games). I take the connector out, push the sides of the 12v1's on the PSU connector together for a tighter grip, and to hopefully help 'scrape' some of whatever it is on that connector. Which usually works, the wire dosen't get as burning hot as it did playing games before, for a few days anyways

but today wierd things started to happen. One thing that happened before but not many times is win7 would startup and each video card would be "could not start cause the device reported an error", I restart once and that usually cleans it up, but now, it did it 3x times in a row, till I did whats mentioned above, and it worked

I'm playing New Vegas and I am starting to constantly get "Driver stopped responding, but has recovered" message. Something I only got a few times in firefox when flash activity causes the hardware acceleration to go on the fritz, but I never got it during a GAME

then after some research I realized 12V1 'powers everything but the CPU'. I know my video cards have 2x6 pin each, but I bet there are some power circuts that draw it from PCI-express on each card. (I have 2). One thing I also notice is every time I play that PSU pushed some REALLY hot air out. Is my system too strong for this PSU?

neweggs 'power supply selector' says 1200, but I figure they're padding the hell out of it to try and sell the higher shit

      well 725

of course there is no option for factor OC'd video cards, and these were some of the highest OC'd video cards out there

      I knew newegg was lying

        Re: PSU Question

If you're PSU isn't shutting down, then you're not overloading it - you're just pulling too much from the ATX connector for the wires to handle, and that will happen regardless of what PSU you use. this is why I don't like single rail units - because this kind of thing will just burn up the connector as opposed to tripping the OCP. In any case, though, I think you're problem is with the motherboard. Good luck trying to get ASUS to honor the warranty, though
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

well I just fixed it, using the oldest and usually most effective trick in the book, I removed the old driver completly, and installed the latest one

just played new vegas for 30 mins straight no problems

You still need to fix the burning connector issue.

I know, and I did think of one of those extentions, but I want a shorter one, maybe 3"

oh well, its not hot now, hasn't been all day

PS5 CFI-1016A DISK shuts down only when playing ps4 games error ce-108262-9
                by amigo744
                Hello there,

                ps5 cfi-1016a disk console
Problem: ps5 shuts down when playing ps4 games after cold boot with error code ce-108262-9.
After the shut down the console boots up normal and then the ps4 game functions without a problem.
ps5 games run allways without any problems after cold boot.
                Thats absolutely curious....

I have already rebuild database, clean cache and reinstall latest firmware with usb stick in safe mode.
                That doesen´t help
Furthermore i have opened console and renew liquid metal on gpu.
                This all doesn´t...

                Hey....

Board as written in description was stuck at VGA LED. common Problem wit these type of bords.... tried all the "standard stuff" like resettin... reseatin.... found out the LED Controller MCU1 = IT8295FN-56A geting burning hot under the last PCI Slot.. now i desoldered it cause there were only 18 ohms at the caps arround.... another aorus x470 in working condition with similar part and nearly same layout had arround 280 ohms...

my question is: why doesnt the board start know without this chip.... worked myself through the boardview but i can´t understand...

Xbox Series X - crashing to dashboard shortly after launching games
                by survivalbloke
Hey all! I've got a XBOX Series X which came in with the complaint of games crashing to the dashboard after launch. I've tested a few games so far. Red Dead Redemption I observed will load up fine and sit on the menu no problem, but once I actually load into the world, it will not complete the load-in, and crash, stating something about an error must be sent to Rockstar, etc.. Truck simulator seemed to work fine. Minecraft loaded up and zoned into a world, but within a few seconds, it too, crashed to the dashboard. Where are the logs stored? What should I check?

Vaio DA0HK1MB6E0 MBX-247 Burning any EC
                by ignacio.ino27
                Hello to all.

I have this Sony Vaio QUANTA HK1 DA0HK1MB6E0 MBX-247 that is burning the NUVOTON EC when you connect it to power supply.

                1) The +3vpcu line is going to a direct short after connecting the motherboard to power supply.
                2) I discovered the EC NUVOTON was shorted. After removing it the short gone out on that line (+3vpcu) but... (If i quit the EC the 3.3v are pressent on +3vpcu because the shorted component was quited)
                3) There were no shorts after soldering the new EC NUVOTON. But after connecting the board to power supply the EC keeps burning...

LG 65UQ8000AUB no backlight burning smell
                by howardc64
Only 3 years old. Owner said backlight went out and burning smell. Didn't bother plugging in to check if had power LED. Just opened the TV rear and found shorted bridge rectifier diode on the backlight circuit on the PSU. SF26G (400V 2A super fast recovery rectifier link ) diode replace with SF26 (what I had on hand) Google AI said G = Green Components.

Burn looked pretty bad on the board but just was blackened carbon coating material. Scraped and cleaned off quite well and clean solder pad for the new diode.
