Re: My new CPU Cooler
Yup
Funny, what you want is exactly what I wanted when I set out to build my system more than a year ago. Great with media, quiet, expandable, and great quality. Just a nice, solid, reliable tower that's always there when I need it. You described my system perfectly, except I am running C2D instead of C2Q.Comment

Re: My new CPU Cooler
a c2d would not be bad, but if i am ditching the PDC, i want to go all out. now if i came into a c2d cheap/free (you would be surprised what i have gotten for freebies), i would take it, but if i really was investing in it, a c2q would be nice (as would 8gb ram and a better graphics card, but thats another dream).sigpic

Re: My new CPU Cooler
I picked C2D because the C2D vs. C2Q benchmarks failed to impress me. So far my C2D (E7500) has yet to even show signs of struggling with anything I've yet to throw at it. Runs 64-bit stuff like a boss. If you are buying retail, C2D has a good power/price ratio IMO. Not to mention C2D and 775 are at that sweet spot where they have reached maturity but are still considered modern.Comment

by BleedCapI already posted this on vogons.
Its a 3d printed custom bracket for socket 478.
I used this AM4 bracket as a base design.
Its to be use with cheap generic clip based cpu cooler.
Reason for doing this is:
- Its hard to get/find a good copper base cooler. Even if you find one, the price is ....
- New generic cooler is cheaper and can use bigger fan (less noise)
I tested the bracket with cheap chinese horizontal cooler + fan taken from CM hyper 212 evo.
The processor that I was using is P4 2.4Ghz prescott....-

by edugimenoHi there!
I have an old wine bottle cooler, it's a basic peltier cell system with a power supply built in with the controller board, with a simple display at the front door and 2 push buttons to select the desired temperatura.
Symptoms are it doesn't barely cool down, and makes a chirping noise at the board.
Both fans on each side of the peltier are (now, after much cleaning) running smooth and silent
When you turn it on, the front 7-segment display flickers for a variable time, usually like 1 minute but sometimes nothing or 3 minutes... Then turn on solid (but still some... -
by KYBOSHPicked this one up today.
In addition to falling LED diffusers there is a single line here that maybe a deal breaker.
From my reading on these boards it is said that the issue is likely a sign of failed tab drivers, ribbons or tab bonding to the panel.
Wanted to get a 2nd opinion from you guys before I gave up the ghost.
Great looking TV otherwise.
Is there any tricks I can do to try to save this one?
If so, i'll gladly order a set of backlights and save this one from the landfill..
Thanks in advance

by KYBOSHTrying to a fancy Wine and Can Beverage Cooler which wasnt working.
Model number AWBC242GGFD
Previous owner states that it needs a new motor.
When plugged up you hear a quick chime from the PCB alarm but it quickly dies away (trails off actually) and there is no sign of life from the unit at all.
I pulled out the main control board to give a look.
Fuses checked out okay. All diodes except one checked out. It was reading in both directions so I pulled it out of circuit and checked it again but this time it read good.

by TopcatThis is a Coolermaster case double-header.... The reason this one didn't get added to my 'misc build' thread is becasue the Cooler Master ATC-S aluminum case....That case is a class-act way above & beyond anything in that thread! However, we have to get through a mediocre build to get to the treasure!
...but here's the two Cooler Master cases in question; both of which were drop-offs for recycling.... The one on the left, I'm not really sure what model it is. It's nothing overly special, but it is well-made. The one on the right is an ATC-S solid aluminum, best I can determine...-
