I need to replace 8-10 Capxon capacitors.

Mostly 680uF 25v +105℃ caps.
Two are 1000uF 10v +105℃ caps.

I found some 680uF 25v Panasonic capacitors but they're rated +85℃
(I assume that's not an ideal replacement)

I did another search and found 680uF 25v +105℃ caps manufactured/sold by Littlediode.com

Can anyone tell me if these are good quality capacitors?

If they are 105 degree ones from the factory, then those are what is usually best to put back in, but for anyone to really help you, we need to know what they are used on and how they are being used.. example is you do not have to have a really low ESR on a power supply, while on a motherboard it is best to stick with the lowest esr possible.. so location and use can make a big difference.

also, we need to know the series of what you are looking to replace with and what is currently being used.. should be 2 or 3 letters on the side of the cap.

Just the manufactures names don't tell us anything.
Capacitors have a series [model] number.

And what they go to matters too.

If you do decide to buy from LittleDiode, their prices on Ebay are cheaper, as they include VAT. Also the postage charges are almost half.

Sorry for the delay.

I'm replacing caps inside of a 19" LCD monitor
HP vs19d. 120v 60hz Manufactured in April 2006. I've had it since September 2006

I live in Georgia and I haven't had air conditioning since .. 1997

Last week the temp hit 96 degrees. The monitor was fine all day.
No smoke. No pops. No nothin.

I went to sleep. Turned off the monitor like usual.

Got up in the morning. (To the lovely sounds of an online alarmclock)
Hit the power button on the monitor.. nothin

My question: Is it normal for capacitors to fail when the power is off? (But still plugged into an outlet.)

I luckily had a spare 26" Olevia widescreen Tv/Monitor lying about.
That lasted all of maybe.. 10 hours. Upon which there was a loud pop.

I don't know how long the Olevia monitor was used before I got. Or what failed/is damaged on the inside.

Tho it was pushed against a wall and still in the same non-air-conditioned room as before.
(Yeah, I've learned my lesson. Gonna change my desk setup/add some cooling.)

Inside the HP 19" I found 6 visibly failed Capxon capacitors.

Four 680uF 25v & Two 1000uF 10v cap

Other caps inside are:

50v - 47uF, 2x22uF, 10uF, .7 uF
35v - 2x470uF, 2x220uF
25v - 2x 1000uF
10v - 1000uF
and one huge 400v cap

My intent was to replace all the 680uF 25v and 1000uF 10v
Then see if everything would work again.

All caps are Capxon btw.

Many here will suggest you replace ALL the caps. Caps die from heat/age. Since you live in a hot climate, all your caps are probably going to dry out sooner or later. So replace them all the fresh quality caps like Rubycon, Panasonic or United Chemicon.

You can order from digikey or mouser or from Badcaps.

Replace all the Capxon. If they aren't bad yet they will be.

What series of Capxon?
Just saying Capxon isn't enough info to look up replacements.

You may be having condensation problems also.
Cooling off in high humidity can form water drops on PC boards too.
If they don't dry out before you turn it back on you can fry something.

HP VS19D monitor - bad power supply

As retiredcaps indicated, I do recommend replacing all the "vent style" caps (+ sign score mark on top). These PSU's are a common board used in many LCD monitors and all the CapXon should be replaced as PCBONEZ and others recommended. The exception being the large 400v cap. It is not a common failure. Check your fuses(s) also. Big white barreled one near the big cap. Small one *right at* the cable connector to the video board. (Near the yellow transformer and 3 caps)

DO NOT do as that repairer did and buy caps from Radio Shack!

Once others see the board, they will know it.

Are you getting *any* power indicator lights at all?

it is possible.. some times caps will work good once turned on and used for a bit but loose there resilience once they are turned off and may take a few tries to charge back up once used again. An example would be a PC that does not turn on but after a few power cycles, it will run fine.. this may be the same problem that you have.. so replacing the caps could fix it.. but there is never any guarantee.. for the price of a few caps, definitely worth a try unless you see soemthing majorly blown..
