Maybe a sleeveless United Chemicon FL? The FL mark on the top lead me to Hardware secrets' forum: a member posted the image of a vrm with similar caps and claimed those may be NCC FL series; anyway 680 uF seems too much for a ventless lytic, so I should be wrong.

Looks like it's Matsushita FL series:

I think I found the same capacitor but this time sleeved, take a look:

Pics are from the MSI K9V Neo-V board. The last picture is the same board but newer revision.

i had a hp/usus board in last week with jacketed fl.
looks like many mfr's are loosing the jackets to be rohs compliant.

Has anybody got official datasheets for the FL, and are the specs any better than FJ? I've seen sleeved FLs on a lot of motherboards.

Japanese 3DO with leaking caps - (nearly) full poly replacement
              by Blag
Hi all, I've got a 1994 Japanese Panasonic 3DO with 2 leaking caps. Since all the caps are now 25 years old I decided to swap them all before more of them start to leak.
To reduce the danger of another leakage in the future I decided to swap every possible cap with a poly cap.
Has anyone here done that already and give me some hints?

I found a "fitting" (voltage, uF and measurements) poly cap for all but 3 caps. The largest cap is a 6800 uF 25v cap, since there aren't any 6800er polys I'll get a high quality electrolyte one with a higher temp rating. The...

              Is this Asus A8S dead?
              by keldeo
When I attempt to power the board, the CPU fan spins for a second, then nothing. If I try to power it in again, nothing will happen until I unplug the PSU and replug. I only have a green standby LED. I've tried basic stuff, different RAM, even different CPU. But still nothing. However, I removed the CMOS battery and it did stay on, but I had no GPU or POST card installed so I don't know if it actually worked. Attempted more combinations of removing and reinserting the CMOS battery, to no avail, I'm assuming it was a coincidence. Also tried putting pressure on the CPU, and the finger test, nothing...

              Fake polymers?
              by xnRS
              Hey everyone

So many things happend this year, and because of that - only place where i could buy caps is Aliexpress

I won't consider buying electrolytics from ali(or if there is a good trusted seller, than i would buy), but i think polys will be good

Are polys could be easily faked ? Especially FP12K Caps from Nichicon/Fujitsu(not FP5K, FP12K), their shrink is more chrome'ish compared to other caps, so maybe anyone knows anything about it?

Mystery 80s Sanyo cap - perhaps polymer?
              by cj_reha
Hey all I've been working on a 1984 Sanyo 27" color TV which had a smattering of bad caps in the video switching circuit. I found this oddball little 1uF 25V cap which looks to me like an early polymer, but I can't find concrete info proving it. I know Sanyo was a big player in early polymer cap development and this is the time period where they were just getting on the market, so I'm wondering if anyone has crusty old datasheets that could help identify it and determine if my suspicions are right? It has the same epoxy end seal and font/formatting as some old stock Os-Cons I've got laying...
