Well, I'm no cap expert when it comes to fake caps, but I looked at my small stash of KZE and KY caps, and some of them do indeed show quite a bit of variation in the quality of the sleeve print just like yours. So perhaps they are legit indeed. I bought all of my Chemicon KZE and KY caps from Digikey and Mouser, so I doubt I got fakes (plus, I've used many of them for my own repairs and nothing has gone bad yet).

Yes, those caps could be old stock. That last picture you posted shows that they all have different date codes. I don't know how to read them, though.

It all depends on what purpose the caps have in the circuit and the circuit design, so I can't pinpoint anything specifically. Some circuits just can't handle bad caps and can send huge voltage spikes to whatever is connected to that voltage rail.

I'm not a plasma guy, but I'll have a look in your thread.

I know caps have 20% tolerance, I just thought new good brand name caps are normally on higher side, from my experience checking them anyway.

Actually, being old stock should increase the capacitance. s the cap sits unused, the oxide layer slowly thins. This would normally increase the capacitance, but lower the maximum voltage. I have to say, though, that they do actually look pretty genuine.

I still would not recommend using fleabay, especially since, being in the USA, you have plenty of options for authorised distributors such as digikey. Either of these probably would have done the job fine, and you can be certain that these are genuine:

I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

            Fake Caps in Xbox 360
            by Galraedia
I decided to take one of the Rubycon capacitors out of a phat Xbox 360 with a Zephyr motherboard and noticed that all the Rubycon capacitors near the CPU were fake. The capacitors in question are Rubycon MFZ 680uf 6.3V and they all have a bullseye bottom, something not found in genuine Rubycon capacitors. None of them were leaking, they all have the K top, and the system has never been opened before. It appears Microsoft was using fake capacitors in the Xbox 360, or the Chinese facility where the console was manufactured in was using them and passing them off a genuine. Just thought I'd share...

What are the 2 or 3 most used BGA balls sizes please ?
            by corrize
Hello, I want to buy BGA balls (not stencils, only balls) but I don't know what size, it's just for reballing the new chip balled if the first attempt fail. So I will rarely use it. Probably chips are PMIC with max 60 balls. I don't need to reball EC chips from laptops of big chips like that.
So what are the 2 or 3 most used BGA balls sizes I should have for cover the jobs please ?

Lenovo TB-X605F fake charging after charging connector replacement.
            by thesame
Hy guys, i have this lenovo TB-X605F with charging problem, the tablet is fake charging, i have replaced the charging connector twice, it only draws 0.40 Amps when pluging the cable for the first time then it stops drawing any Amps but the tablet keeps showing the charging image at 0% as long as i keep it connected. I have no voltage at the battery connector with the cable pluged, but i have 5 volts after usb connector on some testing points on the board.
