Re: Converting 12VDC transformer to 12VAC
I soldered thermal fuses in the past, no issues so far. Im using those clips when dealing with heat-sensitive components - it helps a lot

I ordered a pack of 10 anyway - a lot of spares if something will go wrong Re: Converting 12VDC transformer to ...01PR1KNS

Re: Converting 12VDC transformer to 12VAC
Not rats, I don't have rats here. We have voles, field/deer mice, and rabbits. It happened in the daytime. Definitely rodent because it has teeth marks....

Re: Converting 12VDC transformer to 12VAC
Of course, I will not use it without a fuse, already ordered one. Im using a photosensor switch so it gets power at night only....

Re: Converting 12VDC transformer to 12VAC
I just opened the damaged transformer, and found a thermal fuse in it. Jumped fuse wires, plugged it in - it works I guess, I can fix it, just need to find a fuse.

Re: Converting 12VDC transformer to 12VAC
This is not for electronic devices, just LED lights. I know it sounds weird since LED is meant to work with DC I have a set of garden lights, originally the wiring and power were for old iridescent bulbs, during the years I had it I changed it to LEDs, added more, replaced some, etc. A lot of it soldered to wires. I never paid mind to polarity since it still worked from the original AC transformer. But lighting killed the transformer after many years. I replaced it with another AC transformer. But one rodent chewed wires under the porch...Last edited by sansonet; 06-30-2023, 07:41 AM.

Converting 12VDC transformer to 12VAC
I need an AC transformer because the one I used is burned. Since I have some unused DC transformers, I wonder if it is possible to just remove the bridge rectifier from it to convert it to an AC transformer. I measured voltage before the rectifier on this one - it shows 13 VAC, and 16 VDC at connector without load. Rated 12VDC 1000mA....

Re: Empava KQC65C-17 Built-in Convection Electric Oven - display problem
yes, it's only 5 y.o., but useless now without being able to set up the temperature. The manufacturer would not even sell this part because they said it's "too old" and they don't carry it anymore.
I still trying to figure out how to power it up, can't do much without it....

Re: Built-in Convection Electric Oven - display problem
what points I should use to connect 3V? Should I use 5V/gnd pins on the power board (pic #5)? This connector goes to the display board. I have 5V DC adapters I can use, also lipo batteries 3.7-4.2V.
This is part of the board on the backside of display, top left are connector pins...Last edited by sansonet; 02-26-2022, 07:43 AM.

Empava KQC65C-17 Built-in Convection Electric Oven - display problem
My friend asked me to check this oven display, its Empava KQC65C-17, and the part is not available even from the manufacturer. On the bottom of the first pic temperature digits have some LEDs off. Im trying to figure out what parts/components could be the culprit so I can test them. Also what connectors I should use to power it on? I only have those two boards in the house, not the entire oven, but looks like it can be powered on from 110 or 220V....

Re: TLC LE48FHDF3300Z Horizontal lines - question about T-Con
OK, tried it again... Location is near side flex cable (first two pics) and middle cable (pic #3)...Last edited by sansonet; 07-12-2020, 12:46 AM.

I did, those halves on pics 4 and 5, I not made pics of full screen on those, just visible parts....Last edited by sansonet; 07-09-2020, 09:08 PM.

TLC LE48FHDF3300Z Horizontal lines - question about T-Con
Somebody gave me TV with bad screen, I want see if replacing t-con will fix it. I can get one from aliexpress pretty cheap - dont want invest too much in it since Im not sure if it will fix this TV. But for some reason most of Chinese sellers have this board without resistors, as it shown on this picture
One listing I wanted to buy from (US seller) dont have resistors too (by time I opened TV to check board number it was gone ) https://www.ebay.com/itm/TCL-LE55FHDF3300ZTAAA-LJ94-25813H-SQ60PB-MB34C4LV0-1-T-Con-Board-/333636600899
Most of US...Last edited by sansonet; 07-08-2020, 09:30 PM.

Re: Surface mount fuse ID
I figured out its 30A fuse (I had doubts because it so high rated for such small fuse), looks like those https://s2.studylib.net/store/data/013708362_1-e37cf23a3d5bce65df53f108f91f494e.png
Ordered replacements but soldered 30A mini car fuse to in for now, now I wonder if I should just leave car fuse in it and keep replacements as spare part.Re: Surface mount fuse ID<br /> <br...494e.png
