    More fake Sanyo

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...9SIA5H61RA2172

And they didn't even try this time! Off green, dull paint, regular + vent stamp. They essentially look like ChengX or GSC with Sanyo written on them

      Re: More fake Sanyo

It seems so Especially the Power Supply section. Most of the shit on there is overpriced junk from chinese sellers. At the time of this posting, if you go to the Power Supply section there are 1,994 products with "All Sellers" selected, and only 588 if you select "Newegg Only" http://www.newegg.com/Power-Supplies/SubCategory/ID-58

Disappointing. Most of it is shit like this which is just a Leadman with a "SUPER HARDCORE GAMING POWER SUPPLY" sticker on the side: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...9SIA30R1ZR9155

I don't care for Newegg much but what do you expect for $11.29? Their cheap shit is cheap shit and their 1/2 decent stuff is marked up too much. The last two PSUs I bought from them died within a couple of years, but they were cheap shit so I kind of did get what I paid for.

Yeah, it's cheap so that people will buy it. But if you're going to make cheap shit, what's the point of trying to make it with fake Sanyo caps that are so obviously fake? Maybe just leftover surplus that another unknown chinese company was trying to get rid of.

Replacing Fake Sanyo's in a SMPS
                by jayjr1105
I have a cheap chinese T12 soldering station that I really like and use a lot. It has (clearly) fake Sanyo WG caps (1000uf 35v) on the secondary side that I'd like to replace with authentic caps. What should I use?

They are 10mm width but could probably squeeze in 12mm caps and they are super short for a 1000uf 35v cap but I could probably fit 30mm max height.

It also has an unpopulated spot so I assume 3 good ones can make up for two. I have some KZE 35v 680uf. Even with three would I be okay on capacitance?...

                Fake Caps in Xbox 360
                by Galraedia
I decided to take one of the Rubycon capacitors out of a phat Xbox 360 with a Zephyr motherboard and noticed that all the Rubycon capacitors near the CPU were fake. The capacitors in question are Rubycon MFZ 680uf 6.3V and they all have a bullseye bottom, something not found in genuine Rubycon capacitors. None of them were leaking, they all have the K top, and the system has never been opened before. It appears Microsoft was using fake capacitors in the Xbox 360, or the Chinese facility where the console was manufactured in was using them and passing them off a genuine. Just thought I'd share...

Mystery 80s Sanyo cap - perhaps polymer?
                by cj_reha
Hey all I've been working on a 1984 Sanyo 27" color TV which had a smattering of bad caps in the video switching circuit. I found this oddball little 1uF 25V cap which looks to me like an early polymer, but I can't find concrete info proving it. I know Sanyo was a big player in early polymer cap development and this is the time period where they were just getting on the market, so I'm wondering if anyone has crusty old datasheets that could help identify it and determine if my suspicions are right? It has the same epoxy end seal and font/formatting as some old stock Os-Cons I've got laying...

                Sanyo DP5834 - Gray Screen
                by toddw65
                Hey All,

I have a Sanyo DP5834 that did have an issue with the backlights, but I disassembled the unit and repaired the LED strips by resoldering all of the connectors. Now I've reassembled it and I have backlights and sound, but a grayish screen. I can tap on the screen and see that it's on, but no picture. All voltages seem to be correct on the power board.

Based on the LCD Flat panel TV troubleshooting guide by Bud Martin, I'm thinking the T-Con has failed because I'm getting 12v both into and out of FP1 on the T-Con. Am I on the right track?

                Thanks,...
