    Capacitor problem?

Not sure if this is the right site but any help is appreciated.
I have a small 2 horsepower 120VAC portable air compressor that starts fine on the line voltage in my shop. I have used it many times on a generator (5000 watt)but now it will not start when the pressure switch calls for it to run. The motor turns slowly until it trips out. If I discharge the air then compressor will start but even then it seems to struggle more than when it is connected to house current. I have tried it on two different generators with the same results. Any ideas?
I have not tested the capacitor because it is starting fine on house current but here is the capacitor info:
    XUFENG
    CBB60 150uF +/- 5%
    250VAC C SH P0
    25/70/21 50/60HZ
    09.2008

    Thanks for your help,
    David Cochran

    Re: Capicitor problem?

Aloing with many other things I know nothing about generators or compressors but I guessed the question may have been asked before so:

may go some way to helping.
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Are you sure it's 150uF and not, perhaps, 15uF. The 250VAC rating and the 5% tolerance suggest to me that it's a motor-run film capacitor, and 15uF seems to me a more reasonable value (maybe it's 15.0uF?). Motor run capacitors help heavily loaded motors start up, which is the problem you're trying to fix.

BTW, I suggest removing the telephone # from your post, as BadCaps is visible publicly.

Agreed. Phone numbers should never be made public like that. I fixed the spelling in the title too.

I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

I agree too... phone numbers shouldn't be published in a public forum :p

              Re: Capacitor problem?

Thank you for the warning about the phone number. It is removed. Can anyone help me with my problem? It may be a 15.0 uF capacitor and I just cannot see the period. I just know it starts fine on house current but not from two different generators. Any ideas?
              Thanks,

The main filtering capacitor was not replaced because I did not have that was not too tall

Problem with LG Plasma 60PM6700 - Random power downs
                  by theone111
I have an LG Plasma TV 60PM6700 for the past ~12 years.

In the last ~3-4 months I have been having some issues.
                  1. Problem: It started with random picture disappearing (sound still worked).
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait a few seconds before turning it on again.
                  2. Problem: Then it got worse and the TV started to shut down and when turning on the no picture just sound.
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait about 10-20 seconds and turn it on again to solve.
                  3. Problem: TV shuts down

                  RTX 3080 FE Identifying capacitor
                  by Prolog
Hi people, I hope this is the correct spot to post this, I'm new to the forum.

I have an RTX 3080 Founders Edition which has a burnt up capacitor (it was in parallel with another capacitor which appears damaged too), so I am hoping to be able to identify the capacitor values and order replacements.

I hope these photos make it clear which component I am referring to:
(yes, the soldering is a bit botched from removing the blown one, I know)

I have found the board schematic (attached), but there does not seem to be a boardview available. I have never...

If I replace with inferior capacitor, Is it No harm to other IC components at all?
                  by chth96
I replaced some capacitor which is located on optical pickup pcb which is shown in the table below(PCB #2).Because it have been out of order.
Now,It works very well,But I just have found that all caps (6svpc100my and other part number as well) ,which is shown in the table below, has ultra-high ripple current spec.
It is not able to obtain any capacitor which can be a substitute for this ultra-high ripple current nichicon capacitor.
So I replaced it with samxon and rubycon's general capacitor(GP,YXA series).
I know that these capacitor will not last as long as nichicon capacitor...
